January 2021 - Leafs43:
Zach Hyman: Biggest disappointment this year. Will struggle when outside of top 6.
August 2021 - Leafs43:
We all knew Hyman was going to get at least 4.5AAV on a long term deal.
please explain... - MaximusAurelius

you know this is nonsense. trying to talk yourself out of obvious contradicting statements.
anyways, good luck making up more stuff. - MaximusAurelius
You're the making up some 1.75 million number that no one with half a brain cell ever said.
I didn't make up anything. I thought Hyman was going to get paid on his next contract, and I thought that a year ago.
I also thought Hyman would struggle on the third line this year.
These are only conflicting statements to people who can't form two thoughts at once.

Hyman was good here. He’ll be good there for a while. Holland doesn’t care about long term which is why he wanted another year to lower AAV.
It would have been absurd to move him last year. - Canada Cup
Really???
So you thought we were winning the Cup last year?
What about Rielly this year? Should he be signed or should Dubas hold his hand to UFA and get nothing for him should he not sign?
Just want to know if I should bet on the Leafs to win the 'losing in the 1st Round Cup" again. |

Whats absurd is the constant loss of assets for nothing.
Look at what Columbus got instead of losing an asset for nothing.
Oh wait Hyman wasn't lost for nothing He played out his contract. |

That tweet was awesome by Phil.
I hope someone gets him out of Arizona, the man can still play! - Scabeh
Will always love that man.
I'm very much hoping that Arizona eats half his contract at the deadline and trades him to a contender. |

So sell off unless it’s a sure thing? After the season they had, you would have moved Hyman at the deadline. They were easily the best team in the division and it those circumstances you take a shot.
Trade Rielly if there’s a good trade available that helps or doesn’t hurt the team this year. I don’t believe in pissing away the few years left on Matthews’ contract. If there’s no deal, use the year to develop Sandin - he’s not ready to move up the pairings this year - and spend the $5M next year. Pissing away Matthews’ years is the worst asset management 8 can think of. |

Not in rebuild. Deep down everyone really wants a rebuild; arguing over obscure prospects, collecting picks. |

They got to play the likes of Edmonton Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Ottawa 8 times each.
Lets see that lofty winning percentage this year. - bobbyisno1
Against the weaker detroit, devils and sabres like 4 - 6 times each?

The same columbus that got nothing for Panarin and Bobrovsky? Bonafide superstars. Not wingers like Hymen? That same Columbus?

Don’t get me wrong, I get your point.
That being said, I still think CBJ did the right thing. I think they owed it to their core and the fan base and trading them wouldn’t have changed their perception any. That might be one of the best shots they ever get. |
