I think Dubas also owes his core to go for it right now too. That's why I'm not upset when Hymen walks or if Rielly walks next off season.

- arguably one of the Leafs best player last season including playoffs (Top 5/6 at least)

If you are making the argument that he is a bum or burner of a player - that’s crazy, man. Just looks silly.
I would argue he’s one dimensional and too many of those types isn’t a recipe for Playoff success and maybe they have too many softies, but to try and say he’s a bad player is insane. He’s a Top 6 player on most every team.

He is also one handsome devil though.

The fact is he produces though. 14th in NHL (right wingers) last season in points 42 pts in 51 gp (missed a few). He did that not playing on the teams Top Line (perceived). That’s pretty good.

So sell off unless it’s a sure thing? After the season they had, you would have moved Hyman at the deadline. They were easily the best team in the division and it those circumstances you take a shot.

Trade Rielly if there’s a good trade available that helps or doesn’t hurt the team this year. I don’t believe in pissing away the few years left on Matthews’ contract. If there’s no deal, use the year to develop Sandin - he’s not ready to move up the pairings this year - and spend the $5M next year. Pissing away Matthews’ years is the worst asset management 8 can think of.
