Can’t wait until it’s like Strome + Robertson + Georgiev + 1st for Eichel with 33% retained |

I'm positive that Reaves will be scratched more than he will suit up in his 3 years here. - Brukie
Yea and so what? You are so dumb to not realize they won’t need him every game
Brukie, seriously GET A CLUE you massively dumb (frank)
So since you apparently are paying his salary, and know him, tell him to knock yo ass into the next millennium to save us all from your stupidity 🤦♂️ |

TJ - will take them one by one, but a generic comment first. I have always said I would be fair and balanced, both good and bad. Think in the 10+ years I have been blogging here, I have done that. if I agree, will state that, and disagree, same. That mantra has been the case when it would be easy to give the team a pass and just be a homer.
You clearly don’t like the Reaves addition - my disagreement was two-fold, one, the cost to acquire. I felt a third was high, if a fifth, wouldn't have complained, especially since he was phased out in the playoffs last year for Vegas. Second, just because he is here doesn't mean liberties won't be taken. He will help by his presence, but to me, that won't be enough to stop it from fully happening.
I didn't think the second year was needed now, especially with the need to re-sign Igor and extension for Fox, plus possibility of extending Zib and acquiring Eichel. That is the case irrespective of same salary. I have no doubt he will be a good teammate, good in and out of the locker room, and if he can reverse the regression in his skating, be somewhat effective on the fourth line. Plus, as said, hope to be proven wrong.
Hated the Buch trade (it wasn’t great, but not nearly as bad as people make it to be) - I feel he return was underwhelming, as I noted at the time of the trade. Blais and the second in 2022 was not ideal, cognizant of the marketplace. Plus, as I wrote a lot, no reason why the the third line could not have remained a scoring line and the loss of Buch removes the safety net for Kakko and Kravtsov. Plus, if one goes in a deal for Eichel, even more so as to the scoring from wings. Cap constraints is an issue, but I was on the Buch extension train for several years now and not reversing that view.
Have more or less slapped Drury every chance you’ve had so far - I didn't pan the Goodrow acquisition, just the six years, as wanted a lower AAV if extended that long. Plus, liked the Hunt signing a lot, same with Nemeth
It’s mind boggling to me as they are now a primed and ready PLAYOFF team (by that I mean roster wise). The NHL better look out for the NY Rangers - Drury set out to balance the roster and create clear roles, he has done so. We knew the team had to get tougher and clear changes were to be made. I would have done so on the fourth line, moved Kreider down to the third line and see the impact of that change. I hope the changes do make the team more playoff tough with the hopes they get there. - airjan23
They’ve revamped the whole roster to be playoff ready, and all they gave up was Buch. That 3rd rder for Reaves will be forgotten about in a year or two when we’ve crushed opponents on the scoreboard, and with their bodies. It’ll be fun. Also, the low AAV/long term is the new thing. Everyone is doing it, but Goodrow should be the exception? you’re really nitpicking Jan
You just don’t seem as excited about the changes as some of us. Rangers are still loaded and have now addressed the biggest area(s) of need in a huge way.
They basically did what Tampa did except we didn’t get swept in the first rd. Compare the talent on both teams, and the rangers are damn close to them. Now we’re as tough, if not tougher |

TJ, you have your view, I have mine. Don't remember ever demeaning anyone for a dissenting view. The changes should help them in the playoffs, which I get, Just would not have gone in the same direction in all cases. At end of the day, both of us hope the final result is the same, raising a Cup and banner on Broadway. |

If you think about it the full trade was actually
Howden and a 3rd for Reaves and a 4th.
Really not to bad at all lol |

I think this team is way better than last year. Better coach, no howden, no hajek. Better bottom 6 and 3rd pair.
The big loss is Buch. I think they make the playoffs next year. Not a contender, but they will be a better team for sure |
