The Bruins are in the hunt for another center after Krejci returned home. While the B's are still invested in Coyle as a 2C behind Bergeron, they would like another center of a 2C ilk.

Dvorak is of interest to Boston. Maybe Strome has been dangled already, but if not, at least see what deal could be had.

DeBrusk and Zboril are two players the Bruins are using as trade bait.

Boston is too smart to take Strome. Strome also is not physical enough for the Bruins. Also they would look for someone good at the dot. But I like your thought process.

Theo i know its a long shot what assets could hawks give up to get dvorak? He is under contract for 4 more years at 4.5 million per and is center.

The Sabres are below the cap floor. Give them Strome and Connelly

If Toews is healthy I am fine with moving Strome for anything. I also would move Subban or Delia for just about anything. But I would not be in a rush to move Connolly unless we needed the cap space for another specific move. He could be a useful 3rd or 4th line winger. I would not just give him away for nothing.

Remember, Stan is the Hawks GM. He’ll be lucky to get a 6th for both of them.

Even if Toews isn’t ready to start I don’t see Strome as a viable option to play centre.

Dach and Johnson would be 1C and 2C. Strome isn’t 4C material and that could fall to Carpenter, Khaira or Kurashev. 3C would be the only opportunity down the middle for Strome but the Hawks will want to give Borgstrom every chance to fill that void. Even if Borgstrom doesn’t work out both Gaudette and Kurashev are better 3C options than Strome.

I used the word give for a reason. Just give them away. Their cap space is more valuable than either will be to the Hawks.

They tried that last season. Both Strome and Connelly are too slow. Connelly looked anything but useful last season. I am sure they can find someone to replace whatever Connelly would bring for 1M.

If Borgy can't be sent down without clearing waivers, he's staying in the show, imo. He's the 3C, I suspect. Strome is gonna have to play wing if he stays.

To help understand the impact of Hamilton instead of S Jones as a Blackhawk free agent sign, read the current Carolina hockybuzz about the formation of their blueline pairs post Hamilton

Also understand that without one big tough top pair or good borderline first line dman like Jones, a Hamilton negative points stand out. You have a deep defense with top pair guys, then Hamilton - despite his weaknesses - may stand out. Chicago has a few offensively capable prospects although you may not have faith each develops. What Chicago needed most was someone to replicate what the old Seabrook did. That is, handle the big boys on the opposing team

For Stan, it starts with having a Jones capable dman. Perhaps he might have played his cards better and not overpaid. But now we can compete, we have enough toughness in bottom line prospects and on our current defense. That is how we begin to turn it around

Jokiharju and Boqvist posses ability but cannot lead the team. Both are brittle. I hear what Ogilthorpe and Scott, as well as others say about the overpayment.

I feel the pain, too. I really wanted Boqvist to be a career offensive second pair stud. Really hoped to draft Sillinger.

Well Bowman set the coarse whether we are not exactly real happy with the overpayment. But Bowman accomplished what he needed to do.

Now it is the team effectiveness with Colliton's system and when does Toews return.

I am guessing that McDonough and Rocky, the owner, pay hardest for handling of the Aldrich "affair." It is remarkable a player was assaulted and lived to stick around the team. Those responsible for cover up need to be judged harshly. Not sure Bowman is as responsible here - but I am just guessing.

I'll believe Strome being on the team for game one when I see it. I think Stan is playing possum/chicken saying he doesn't need to make a move for cap $'s. Maybe true but he does need to make moves because he has too many players.

No way Delia, Subban, Lankinen are all in the organization this year, 2/3 gone.

Not convinced Mitchell, Kalynuk, Beaudin all playing in the AHL this year if we sign another veteran D-man? Is deHaan odd man out if Stillman and Jones are in?

I don't think all of Entwistle, Hardman and Reichel will play in the "A" either. Which means Gaudette, Nylander, Borgstrom, Connolly and Strome are a log jam. Stan may make a minor move and find a new home for Reese Johnson? I think he will become the "Gilbert" of our minor league Forwards.

Moving some of the above is going to take a significant amount of moves. Nobody will take all our garbage at one time. I think Delia is the first to go he's not going to be good to have around at camp. Suban will go because Stan won't send him down he'll let somebody else take him and do him right. This all assumes Lankinen is the guy for #2. I'm not totally convinced that is the plan?

The Forwards and D-men can sort themselves out in camp but look for moves early during camp if they don't happen before camp.

Yogi Berra said "if you have three second basemen you haven't got a second baseman."

New blog! A look at how the Blackhawks forwards may shape up for 2021-22 as offseason activity flatlines during the late summer lull.

Plus, thoughts on Brandon Hagel and Maxim Shalunov.
