It is of huge concern. Correct. My point is that if the team plays poorly on D, goalies start to cheat. When you start to cheat, you start to let in savable goals as you call them. It's a symbiotic relationship and at a certain point, it spirals out of control meaning that those savable goals are a product of something larger and can't be only pinned on the goalie.

Yes they do start to cheat. A lot of goals I didn't see cheating from what I remember.

Goalie has one job stop the puck!!

Not making up any narrative. Did I say he didn't have any offers? I did no such thing. I do not think he was "aggressively" sought after. If he was he would have more than a 1 year deal for more than 900k. How many teams define aggressively sought after?

So why do you think he signed with the flyers?

Stay bitter! Lol
Some people just don't know how to be happy

And it's okay to be wrong. Just because an arm chair GM like yourself says it's not a destination it appears philly still is for over the hill veterans that other teams aggressively sought after

But you do you, dude!

I certainly saw the effects in both goalies where because of porous d, they were definitely cheating. Sometimes not everyone will see it but you’re cheating the angle, or you’re loaded on one skate or too far back in your net thereby exposing too much for the shooter or you are reacting too early instead of letting the play come to you and reacting. Of course the goalie has to stop the puck but he’s not the entire team. If you have poor defence then goalies struggle due to reasons not everyone can detect.

Not bitter in any way. Not wrong as the validity of my statement is right in front of you. Am I supposed to be impressed the flyers signed a #6 dman who is on his last legs? Sad this is what flyers fans have come to accept.

It is a fact many of the top free agents didn't give the flyer the time of day. Why do you think that is? Flyers struck out in free agency. Surely you have an opinion as to why so please share. Dude.

Aggressively sought after. Can you define your definition of aggressively sought after please.

- hello it's me 2050

They were never going to have a big FA market. They had no cap to make big signings. The fact that they got Yandle was a pretty good score after getting Ellis, and Ristolainen. Later trading for Atkinson.

Yandle is still a good player but not worth 6M plus on the cap. But he is a bargain at 900 and a super third pair defender.

It’s silly but I keep forgetting we got yandle on top of risto and Ellis. I think he is going to really help us with depth etc. That may be one of the better moves chuck made.

I also really don’t believe that UFA is the route to build your team. If a player is that good, rarely is a team going to let them walk to ufa. Further, you over pay and you end up hurting other areas of your team. (See leafs/tavares/ backup goalies).

Build through the draft and trades for players signed to reasonable deals. It may cost you some youth as it has for us but if you build through the draft then at a certain point you should have a lot of those young assets.

you can think Chuck failed in Free Agency, but with the money to spend we had getting yandle and Thompson i would've thought would be impossible. Yandle at 900K is a pretty good deal.

Stop making excuses. They took on money by getting risto and ellis with minimal money going out. They would have went after Jones had he been willing to sign here. They had the money to make things work.

Nothing wrong with Yandle signing. That isnt the point. Why did Florida scratch him in the playoffs?

Hexy, you've not considered the effects of a flat cap world and teams being forced to jettison good players. Look no further than TB for this to be true.

Has nothing to do with signing Yandel at 900k.

He did fail. He had a hard on for Jones and would have made a move had he been willing to sign here. He didnt want nay part of phily. Had to overpay a tad for Risto (no problem with that deal). Had he been able to get a free agent he could use those assets down the line later.

Bill said they went after Stephan and he didnt want to come here. Why is it hard to accept the flyers are just not a destination any longer like in the past?

I always liked to hear Brian Boucher's commentary during games. He talked about how a goalie bases their angles and focus on the play based on the d in front of them. If there is that trust between goalie and d, then Hart and Moose aren't cheating or focused on anything else but stopping the puck. Yes there were bad goals against last season. I think better team d and having that trust will help tremendously. It should give Hart a boost in confidence.

😂. Dude. You kill me🤣.

Chicken little.

On the flip side I know I got black and Orange googles on. So I’m okay with your take. At least I’m having a lot of fun right now. This team is going to have a great season. 👍

Bill,

Just curious, and apologies in advance if you’ve answered this question or made it known in the past...who is your all-time favorite Flyer?
