The team is always ALWAYS better with a healthy Malkin. Is it better than last year? Probably not, but who the hell knows until it happens. If Zucker bounces back to his production from 19-20 and Marino does the same this team is still top 10 in the league at seasons end.

If everything goes exactly right and nobody gets hurt they will be top 10. Good luck with that.

They were literally 5th last season and were decimated with injuries. Not sure why that's a stretch.

The Pens don't have the level of depth they had last year. If Geno misses more than a month I think we're done.

McGinn and Heinen are good depth players. I think E-Rod is pretty solid bottom 6 two way player who should be at 30 points in a full season. To me the key is getting Zucker back to a 25 goal scoring pace and Marino back to 20+ minutes a night of quality play. If they can get those 2 back to their 19-20 play this team will be more than solid.

Feds is emotionally invested in the Pens missing the post season. He claims this every year, and every year we do wonderful in the regular season and cruise through injuries to a post season appearance. One day he’ll be right and he’ll get to say I told you so after going on four years of being wrong.

Not having someone one like McCann to fill in at center is going to hurt bad.

If we lose another center it will hurt us badly, but Crosby Carter Blueger is a fine 1,2,3

Keeping Phil probably means we don't sign JJ or Tanev, could have had the opportunity to select Keandre Miller in the draft, coulda kept Sprong and Addison.

We will have what to start the season?
Jake Sid Rust
Zucker Carter Kapanen
ZAR Teddy McGinn
Heinen Rodrigues PLAYER

If Simon has recovered from his shoulder surgery I could see Sully giving him a spot. Zohorna could impress in camp, especially if they let him play Center where he had some strong showings in Wilkes. Angello and Lafferty are known. We will probably just cycle through that 4th line in different combos while Malkin is out just like we did last season.

- burgh4life87

McGinn plays left wing. ZAR, McGinn, and Heinen are all left wings. Who gets pushed to the right side? My guess is McGinn but that's just a guess. I don't pretend to know how Sullivan thinks.

I would like to see Blueger away from ZAR, Heinen is the better player. If you're going to use Blue as the third line center, then please give him the best available players. This is one area where we do know how Sullivan thinks and I, for one, don't like it.

Pens will win the 2023 draft lottery and take Connor Bedard. Get ready because it's going to happen.

He just trolling you. He knows that the NHL(which is all that matters) considered that series in Covid 2020 the playoffs. All the NHL record books say it.

Thanks. Might not have been that serious since he played on it. Meniscus isn't that bad of an injury nowadays. I bet he'll be back in no time.

Rossi was on the radio a couple of weeks ago. He said months. For some reason he's the "go to" guy for Malkin news. I've heard other writers say similar stuff. Wasn't a minor procedure.

We also entered last year with Jankowski as our 3rd line center and ERod locked in on the 3rd line as well. Geno aside, I don't think we're too different from the start of last year. End of last year yes.

Losing Ceci is a big loss. Matheson finally had a partner that made him look like an acceptable 3/4 dmen. We will be hurting on Defense. I think Hexy butchered the off-season by concentrating on 3/4 line wingers instead of using the money to secure their 2nd pairing dmen. The kicker is we didn't get any net front presence forwards or crease clearing dmen two glaring weaknesses in the playoffs. As of today we have a weaker roster than the one that lost in the 1st round. Hexy has a lot of work to do but with no cap room and stand pat patience we may have another short playoff run...
