Yes, the game would start at 7 eastern on a Saturday night and CBC would start the broadcast at 8.

There was some show that always aired in the 7pm time slot, it might have been Front Page Challenge, though I’m not 100 percent sure. It’s hard to believe in this day and age.

Long before the satellite age, those words bring back memories of listening to the Leaf games on the old AM radio. In the original 6, the Leafs would play the Wings and Hawks on Sunday evenings on the road. My sister and I would catch the games part way thru the first period when the radio signal was sufficient enough to hear the audio. Great memories.
