I would move Bailey if possible. Frees up a good chunk of change and We need speed, - LItransplant44
I'll be the first to say that I was definitely not a fan of Bailey's a couple years ago. A few years ago, I'd fire him into the sun as quickly as possible and agree with you. Now, I'm not so sure I want him gone. Under Trotz though, he's been a big part of this team and their identity. Yes it would free up money but who would you replace him with? Before Lou & Trotz he was between 20-30 points a season. Now he's consistently 40-50 points a years. If it nets us a better return then I guess I'd say ok, but I wouldn't let him go just to free up cap space. |

What I find so funny about that fanbase is for the last three years on here they’ve made fun of and attacked the idea of their team needing grit or edgy players endlessly. Attacked the islanders and their fanbase for exactly that. Dubas gets a few players like that this year and not only is it now the greatest idea ever but they’re once again cup favorites. Hysterical. - Cptmjl
They always think they're cup favorites. So much so that there's no need to even play the season. Just etch their names into the cup and have a parade. They are the most annoying and myopic group of fans in all of sports. Give yer balls a tug MapleQueefs fans. |

Why would Nashville do this after trading Ellis? - MBFlyerfan
It's doubtful, but if Nashville is trying to retool quickly it's not impossible. Not a whole lot else to talk about in Islander-country right now |

What? Why there's Burke getting extended and Pelech going to arbitration and then there's....um....then the, oh.......wait, we've got, no.....Oh, there's always Laffs fans and Burnt Taco to mock. That has to count for something, no? |

I'd move him in the right deal, but he's our top scoring player in the postseason over the last three runs. I'm not itching to dump him for cap space and/or speed |

That's exactly what I was saying. Well, maybe not leading scorer but his point production in general over the last few years. Cap space can be created in other ways. |

so Aug 11 is Pelech's Arbitration hearing date. I am guessing we get a contract before that point b/c no one wants to go to Arbitration. Hopefully we get some news this weekend. |

It'll go to arbitration and we still won't hear what the number is because Lou will threaten the families of everyone at the hearing if they talk |

Let's hope one gets done prior. I don't think the $$ numbers other D-men have gotten help him out since he doesn't have similar numbers. We'll see. I'd like to hear that Beau, Zeeker, Sorokin & Palms re-signed. If there's a trade in the works, I'd like to hear about it being finalized or at least very close to it. |

In the last three playoffs combined he's leading the team in points, that's what I linked. He's an important piece. |

As we all are. I'm also curious as to why this one signing was announced but the rumors of others being done (or close) have not been. Was there an official announcement for Zeeker or Sorokin? |

This has been the first Isles contract news that didn't include Brendan Burke being extended by MSG |
