I see many saying Smith will probably get a 1st round pick at the deadline with 50% retained.
Probably is a big stretch to me. Hopefully is the more accurate word, considering his production last year and being a pending UFA.

The three way trade with St. Louis and Calgary jump on it!!! Minnesota had a trade out there. The skirt for Fiala Greenlay their back up goalie k something and a first better than the rags!! You get 2 and nhl players!! Greenlay is on his way to being an nhl power forward. Fiala is a proven scorer . Yes we need goals tank or not. You get a backup goalie for upl. Because Anderson is not going to make it through 82 games!!! And depending how the wild finish you my get a top 10 pick.
Cozins is an nhl player he is no longer a prospect!! As for Johnson hope he turn in a top nhl defenseman because that is all we have left from the Kane trade!! As with Thompson he what is left from the ror trade.
As far Borgen we will get him back for nothing. Went Seattle waiver him sabres being first in line for waiver claims have first pick so that save a 2nd or 3nd pick!!
And if the St. Louis and Calgary trade goes thru you take Luccic and Hayden to protect the young team so cozins is no fighting alone!! It really all depends on the market at the time so it’s impossible to say for sure but players of his caliber get 1st or conditional 1sts usually. - sbroads24
