Realistically (I know, I know), I think it would be something like:

- Calgary sends Tkachuk, Zary, Pelletier, Valimaki, 22 1st to Buffalo

- Buffalo sends Eichel to Calgary

- Buffalo sends Tkachuk (50% retained $3.5M) to St. Louis

- St. Louis sends their 22 1st and either Thomas or Kyrou to Buffalo

- Buffalo sends either Thomas or Kyrou to Calgary

- St. Louis trades Tarasenko and Jake Neighbours to Buffalo for future considerations

- Buffalo sends Tarasenko (50% retained $3.75M) to the Islanders for their 2022 1st round pick

Summary:

Calgary receives: Eichel and Thomas or Kyrou

Islanders receive: Tarasenko at 50% ($3.75M)

St. Louis receives: Tkachuk at 50% ($3.5M)

Buffalo receives: Zary, Pelletier, Valimaki, Calgary 22 1st, Neighbours, St. Louis 22 1st, Islanders 22 1st

Love all the maneuvering here...took it up a notch from my suggestion yesterday.
One thing I would love to see is securing a RhD out of this instead. None of those teams have a high quality RhD prospect though.

So, could we alter the trade with NYI's to include Valimaki (LhD, #16-OA in '17) to get Dobson (RhD, #12 in '18)? What do we need to change to do so?...drop their '22 -1st? So, Taresanko (50%) and Valimaki for Dobson? Am I crazy here, or is this doable?

One of the greatest music videos ever made. Love this band, the guy is a genius (Jack Dangers). Great song, and great music video too - fun to watch ! :

Either Thomas or Kyrou should stay in Buffalo.
- Mentalorgasm5

Ya, I agree.
If Calgary balks at not getting enough...throw in Olofsson. Kid is going to bust without Jack.

Love this idea!

Keeps a young center in buffalo. Instantly improves flames pp.

I like the rd idea from the isles too.

Where’s Gerbe, write this up and have him fax it over!

Sabres get pooped on hard for this trade.
- Sabretooth9

3 firsts, 3 top prospects, and another good one for Eichel and cap space is bad for the Sabres? Ok…

I don't think Calgary would be trading Tkachuk, Zary, Pelletier, Valimaki, and their 22 1st for Eichel alone.

I also don't think Eichel and the St. Louis 22 1st would be enough, but Eichel and either Thomas or Kyrou would be.

Just my opinion of course.

What do you think Kong?

why don't the blues and flames simply use tkachuk as tarasenko as the centerpiece of a two-team hockey trade?

Why do the Flames want Tarasenko and especially at a cap hit greater than Tkachuk?

It's Thomas or Kyrou and the Blues 22 1st for Tkachuk at 50% retained.

Then it's Tarasenko and Neighbours for future considerations as the clearing of Tarasenko's full cap hit for 2 seasons has a cost attached to it.

don't know...they could move on from tkachuk, get a viable replacement for a year or two and could probably get a pick or prospect in the initial deal?

From what's been reported, teams only want Tarasenko at a big cap hit discount, aka 50%.

It's also a huge question mark how viable a replacement Tarasenko will be.

It would all depend on what the Islanders think about Dobson. I have a feeling they like him quite a bit.

Because Buffalo holds 50% celery, which is more important to the Blues as they are up against it, and need to sign Thomas. They get $3.75 in relief by Buffalo holding 50% of Thachuk.

Calgary gets Eichel and Olofsson, no one from St Louis (in my version anyway).

The reasons I can think of that Calgary would want Thomas or Kyrou over Olofsson are age and more years of control as Olofsson is going to be a UFA after the 22-23 season.

Yes in your version.
I changed it as I want those guys in Buffalo.
I think Calgary would love it as Jack and Olo on the PP is dynamic.
