He gets paid on LTIR, it just doesn’t count towards you cap

The other side of that is Tarasenko has a 25% cheaper cap hit, lesser term, and doesn’t need surgery between now and the start of the season.

Eichel literally needs a surgery before he’s able to suit up in the NHL still and with a 10 mil cap hit being carried for the next half a decade, it’s a scary question mark.

Obviously it’s high risk high reward. If Eichel gets back to the level he was at pre-injury, whoever acquired him made out great but it’s just a ??????

Seems as though GMKA feels differently. Idk what to tell ya. The equivalent to 4 1st doesn’t hold tremendous weight in my mind bcz I’ve been around long enough to see most of ours go from prospects to suspects really quickly.

Until recently I haven’t posted on this website since we traded RoR away. I’ve been absolutely disappointed with just about everything we have done since then. As a die hard I would rather get nothing after 5 years and lose JE to UFA than get hosed again.

The sabres have bent over backwards for JE since drafting him, mostly to our own detriment. We literally have nothing to lose, we already know we are gonna suck for the next couple of years anyways. His 10mil a year is helping Buffalo get to the cap floor and the NMC next year is a moot point. None of that scares me. This is a hill I would die on.

You act like if Buf trades him he still doesn’t get that… punishment is being someplace he doesn’t want to be, IE Buffalo. Like you either don’t understand how contracts work, or are so blatantly biased in trying to get him for peanuts you’ll scratch the bottom of the barrel for why. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt. It’s turned tiresome.

A NMC vetoes a trade it doesn't dictate he has to be traded or where he must be traded.

The Sabres hold all the cards until the trade deadline in Jack's last year before his contract expires. If the Sabres hold onto him until July 1st 2022 at 12:01 pm and Jack who desperately wants out doesn't like the trade to Calgary or Vegas, or where ever then guess what, the Sabres don't have to trade him.

He will be traded when Adams wants it to happen and is comfortable with it, that's really all there is to it!!

Jack is obligated to play for the sabres the next 5 years. I can’t imagine somebody intentionally playing bad for that time to then go into their last meaningful contract negotiations as a UFA, asking for serious money, when you don’t have the numbers to back you up.

Then again jack and his agent are dopey enough to sabotage their own trade…
