Well Ek says the Wild might be circling back around to Eichel.. Teams aren't actually out on him ever. Not that Ek is trustworthy, just my general feel.

No one is out on him, they're out on the current ask, that's all.

Teams don't know about how to handle the neck injury and probably are wondering if they're recommending fusion, as it appears most doctors are, may be worried they end up in the same boat with the "disconnect".

It's going to be tough to get all the assets you want while simultaneously transferring that risk to the opposing team.

That's why I'm of the opinion that the Sabres trade him AFTER the neck issue is cleared up.

Less risk transfer = greater return.

But that gives time for Jack to be the prima donna and tank his own value by being super public about this and putting spine doctor's on Podcasts to talk about his injury publicly while the team is unable to do that.

Edit: The Sabres SHOULD trade him after the neck issue is cleared up. I don't think they wait that long but I think that's what it's going to take to get the best value.

Ok so it’s more or less whether the Isles make it or not.

If the Isles make it I’ll make my display picture Lou’s face for the duration of the playoffs/offseason.

And add as your location: "I'm a beanie-wearing analytics loser who thought the Isles were going to miss the playoffs."

Come up with something similar for me if the miss.

NRD:

Nope. But that’s not surprising. Vally clearly has something that no one else does, and he tweeted what he tweeted.

Agreed, but when insiders are saying the collective: Adams isn't dropping his price (at least not to pennies on the dollar) and the Wild (or others) are out at that price, yet they keep circling back, one of two has to be true. They're either A) Wasting KA's time as he's made it clear his expectations (and especially for the Wild as they had what it would take drawn on a board) or B) They're coming up on their price, at least creatively with different pieces and such.

Yep, and if KA gets close to his asking price (which really is for a fully healthy Eichel) then I think it's still a win.

But KA seems to recognize this going to define the future of the org and I'm glad he's not rushing into it just to get rid of the headache.

Should just get it over with. A hockey trade. Strome, Georgiev and Laf for Eichel. No picks necessary. Fair trade on both sides.

No, but the Rangers are still there, as with Minnesota, Anaheim and Calgary. Haven't heard much on Vegas but I would think there still calling. Everyone is still trying to buy of the bargain rack and that's not happening. Unless Ownership steps in Adams supposedly has been given the freedom to do what he needs to with Eichel. The Pegula's didn't like being spit on.

Jack opening his mouth at the presser, his agents doubling down, and then putting their surgeon on a Podcast isn't helping his situation AT ALL.

I think you have to think of Eichel as a 2022 Corvette.

You can get on a list to own one for under $70k.

Drive it all summer and sell it for 100k.

Why? Because you can’t one.

This is the price to trade for a top line center like Eichel.
