You guys realize that money is finite, right? You make 300 million in 8 years... You do not have 300 million dollars after 8 years. |

stop trolling with that garbage. you literally offered nothing but crap.
Gregoriew is a backup goalie ..... a backup. Sure the sabres are tanking and want to suck. that doesnt mean trading for a career backup is a smart idea
Kakko has shown literally nothing.
Strome is slow and makes his money from panarin on the same line.

I think Strome is a nice piece and still young enough that he could stick around. I don't know that I'd call him a "throw-in" so much as I'd simply agree that Georgiev and Strome needs Kakko or Kravtsov added to even discuss Eichel. Even then I think you still have to include next years first round pick.
Kakko, 1st, Strome, and Georgiev would be my starting point and I wouldn't even pick up the phone otherwise if I'm Adams. - mochoson
That's the thing though. Adams doesn't want value in the terms of veterans. He's looking at veterans as negative value, right or wrong.

No
Literally already typed 2 posts explaining how he has to be included.
Maybe. But he's better then both of the goalies penciled into your starting roster.
Lafreniere is probably the only untouchable among all their forwards. You're trying to trade a player who's so adamant about not playing for your team he's going to just sit out and wait to be traded.
You're not going to be happy with the return you get. - mochoson
Sabres want UPL to start and Anderson to be the mentor.
As I've said at least 10 times, Kyvyn lived in Beane's office this spring.
Think Derek Anderson and Matt Barkley for Josh Allen.
Again, he doesn't give a poop about short term 'better' options. If he doesn't see a long term use for Georgiev, he won't want him.
That's why Kakko, Zegras, Rossi, Krebs are all the focal point, and why all teams are balking until the surgery is figured out. |

There is no "negative value" to taking back Ryan Strome and Georgiev for a year. They are throw in's. Fine. There is no trade without them being included in the return strictly due to cap purposes.
Without anything else, Eichel is at least worth next years 1st, ONE OF Kakko/Lafreniere/Kravtsov, and ONE of Schneider/Lundkvist. You lose the trade with the Rangers if you don't get back at least this. However, I personally think Lafreniere is off limits and you're picking between Kravtsov or Kakko, in which case I'd definitely want Kakko.

Sabres lose the trade IMO if they don't get him or Schneider back. - mochoson

What? It's worth noting when you're making double digit millions per year and paying nearly 11% income tax. You're paying more in taxes than some people make in several years.

I know UPL is definitely the long term plan. Do you think he starts the season on the Sabres roster? Genuinely curious.
Again, I think you might have to take Georgiev for cap purposes. You could always flip him to another team if he's not in the roster plans. |

Sorry I said anything.
Josh is making money. I'll write a dissertation explaining how much to the exact cent per year, net and gross, for the next 8 years.

I genuinely think he does. They will give him every opportunity to grow. If they see that he's not ready by training camp, they'll trade for a body.
As far as a Rangers trade, I think Drury is saying 'hey we need to shed salary to take Jack' and Kevyn is saying that's fine, but we're going to ask more of you to make that work, unless it's for players that fit a specific long term need.
Or
A three way trade to get additional 22 year old and less players and/or picks by using those Rangers veterans. The Sabres don't care about being good. This year, they only care about developing their future. And no vets are going to get in the way of that. |

I don’t really like the pieces NyR has to offer us in general
I’d much prefer guys from other teams
Minny or Anaheim work better to my liking |

Very fair.
Guys like Strome and Georgiev are easily flipped for different assets, especially because you're in a position to eat some salary (which will only increase the return even more) if need be to facilitate it.
EDIT: FOR THE RECORD....I think Jack ultimately ends up in Minny. |

Seems like he’s an untouchable for them though
And it’s not like he lit the league on fire last year
I’m assuming Kakko would be the top piece we get back from NyR
And i like those guys above you mentioned more |

If those guys are being acquired just for Cap purposes & to flip,
then there’s gotta be MUCH more value added to a NyR offer
And it’s gotta start with high end pieces imo
