Yeah, so the only other option is via trade.

I think Lou had something in the works but he needed to figure a few deals for a few first. I fully expect him to bring someone in for barzal

Would you trade Bailey or AB for Johnny G out of Calgary?

Sure, why not. He hasn't done anything of significance.

He’s had a ton of shat signings so there’s that.

So if the Cizikas rumour is true, then the Islanders have… 9.4 million remaining in space?
- Wildschwein

Yes but that’s counting Boychuck’s salary I believe. So up to 6 million of relief in LTIR the first day of the season if needed. The Isles can be 10% over the cap until the first day of the season as well so Lou has space and flexibility to sign players.

Which is probably why none of these contracts has been announced. He needs to use Boychuck's LTIR overage to cover them.

Don’t think so because 10% of the cap is 8 million and they can be over by that amount by the first day of the season when Boychuck’s LTIR kicks in which is only 6 million.

I can see maybe an argument for AB because I do not think he has reached his ceiling yet. But Johnny Hockey is 4 years younger than Bailey and puts up points. He would be a solid get along side Lee and Barzy.

I don’t see Lou changing the pieces that have had success the past 3 years that much. Losing Leddy I feel Lou needs to find a replacement for him. If Beau and his agent don’t agree on a contract with Lou then I could see Lou trading him for a top 6 winger. If Casey and Beau come to terms with the Islanders as rumored I think Parise is the forward add and I’m fine with that. Time to let Wally show what he’s got long term.
Just my opinion of course.

I will admit that I don't watch a lot of Calgary Flames games, but my sense of Gadreau is that he is a smaller, lighter version of Eberle. He's listed at 150 lbs, and I don't think he plays a physical game, so he's not really a Trotz type of player. Also, if you trade Bailey for him, you are creating a hole on the Nelson line, so I don't see that trade as much of an improvement.

And I don’t think you get JG for Bailey as part of the trade.

Only other one close to win that would be Casey. Well deserved by JGP.
