Ducks draft pretty decently compared to most teams, no? - Nucker101
According to that guy no, and looking at their current roster, plus looking at their draft history. Show me where they drafted well from 2004-17
Personally, I don't think they have been that bad, just lacking as that guy said the true star |

Fair, but I feel like overall, they've drafted pretty decently over the past 10 years. They must really be kicking themselves over letting Shea Theodore go to Vegas. |

Sorry I edited it after.
I think more mismanagement as you say the Theodore trade and just not being able to find anything special ever outside since Getzlaf and Perry that were true superstars in their day. |

Ok. I don't know why I needed to know that. |

I do not like Hughes as a player nor do I like his interviews. I hope they trade him. - Reubenkincade
I would listen to offers. He is too small IMO and gets outmuscled constantly.

Curious, but does he ever post his draft comparison misses? Selective memory perhaps? - Nucker101
I have never seen anyone ever actually admit their misses on twitter over draft picks.
Unless Pass it to Bulis calls you out in a press conference over a tweet you made from years previous, no one cares that much. |

Yup.
I can see the crying now, if Benning ever comes to his senses and does the right thing.
I warned everyone on here before the draft. I am sure some think I am out to lunch, but I guarantee, teams don't win with those types of players.
Case in point, Colorado with Sam Girard who gets crushed in big games.
Torey Krug, who has helped St Louis get worse since his acquisition |

@TopDownHockey
For a lot of prospects whose subpar scoring I’ve posted, the excuse has been made that their ice time was limited playing in a men’s league.
Seriously asking: Who are some examples of forwards who scored very little in European men’s leagues in draft year and became good NHLers?
Rhys Jessop
@Thats_Offside
This is a pretty significant flaw with NHLE models that don’t account for contextual differences in leagues
We found back in the day that merely appearing in an SHL game indicated a much higher chance of success than similarly scoring players in SWE J20, especially for true U18s
The NHLe model definitely has a real wart in predicting players.
The pGPS that Cancuksarmy used to have

Was a much better system, I miss it greatly. |

exactly, I want to see who he recommended when Benning drafted Pettersson, Hughes, Boeser, Demko, Hoglander, Rathbone etc - Nucker101
Don't cherry pick now Nucker
I don't think that he was stating that he's a better drafter than an NHL GM, just saying those were his thoughts at the time and he was right about that one.
Its not that big of a deal. A lot of guys in here thought the same thing. Then a lot of them wanted Glass so poop all evens out in the end |

I don't think they think you are out to lunch but they know you are very opinionated on the subject , and you should be. It is a concern the play in his own end. I think his puck skills and skating are excellent . I think he would make a great forward and solve another problem up front . In his own end I have so many concerns and the first is strength and size.

What about Rafalski? He played in the the dead puck era. |

Without commenting on the complications in this particular move (like that big honkin' NMC that MZ has), there's a sense around NHL that an eventual Eichel trade will involve veteran players that BUF will turn around and trade again, not just picks/prospects.

Interesting to see how this turns out for Buf |

how many teams find "true superstars" multiple times in a decade, especially when they're a good team over that span? |

Just because one player can do it does not mean everyone can. Also the players have gotten bigger and stronger since 2010 . He was also 2 or 3 inches taller than Hughes. I swear Hughes is only 5'7
Benning even said a while ago he would like big D |
