Just because one player can do it does not mean everyone can. Also the players have gotten bigger and stronger since 2010 . He was also 2 or 3 inches taller than Hughes. I swear Hughes is only 5'7
Benning even said a while ago he would like big D - VANTEL
I see Rathbone being able to play a complete game before Quinn ever does. If Rathbone is given an opportunity this season and flourishes, then Trade Hughes for a decent RHD. |

how many teams find "true superstars" multiple times in a decade, especially when they're a good team over that span? - prock
I don't have actual data and neither does that guy I'm guessing.
During that time, there was I'm sure lots of true superstar players (definition I'm sure is different to everyone) that Anaheim could have picked and didn't.
Just like the Canucks. Shinkaruk over Theodore. I don't know how many would call Shea a true superstar but comparing him to Hunter, he looks really (frank)en good. |

Shea Theodore has been a fringe Norris contender for a couple of years now. I'd say that counts as superstar (although, for some reason, I find it hard to call him a superstar as well).
Im just saying, I'd bet half the teams in the NHL haven't drafted a player as good as him in the last 10 years. BAsically, the ones that have been contending. The teams like St Louis, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Washington, etc.
San Jose is a great example. Is Logan Couture a superstar? I don't know. if nt him, you have to go back a long long way. |

I am more concerned about the left side than the right side. Take OEL out of the equation and Canucks left side have a total experience of 160 NHL games. Rathbone has 8 games under his belt so I will wait .

I think Luke Schenn gets some games on the left side. |

I hope so . Schenn and Hamonic would add a little toughness. I like Schenn glad they brought him back |

as i said earlier, with the players at the top of the draft, that would be a great outcome. |

Depends most likely on someone definition I would guess. Logan Couture is an excellent player. I think that some teams have definitely had more misses than hits over the past couple decades of drafting.
As in Anaheim case, as I said mismanagement seems to be the bigger problem and not lack of drafting talent. Anaheim just falls in line with a lot of teams that took the swing and maybe hit a double instead of a home run.
TB is probably the best case of Kucherov and Point. Might be one of the reasons why they just won two cups in a row. |

Hello - the new blog is up.
I dug through the Canucks' schedule for next season — and I actually feel much less concerned that most years when I go through this exercise.
That should help the team next season, especially compared to the gauntlet they just ran in the North Division.

True that, I just like his physical game better. |
