Just gonna put my 2C in when it comes to hockey at the summer Olympics. There's no doubt in my mind that NHL players would be more rested and healed the 1st week of August than mid-season. As far as conditioning goes, you're playing for your country.

Neither should NBAers be in the Olympic Mens Basketball or soccer pros be in the Olympic Soccer. But they are the best in the world and the Olympics is about who the best in the world is... that's not U20 players (unless they're Connor Bedard)

Had a great day today, went to roof top rock concert in PG seen people I havn't seen for ages the energy was uplifting. Was just great to mingle with our fellow humans and laugh, hug shake hands etc it was a blast.

The all amateur status of the Olympics to me is one thing that used to make them great to watch and enjoy and many of them were the best in their respective sports anyways. The merging of the professional ranks into the fold sure has brought the 'best' to compete...but I still think it should have stayed separate. The shutting down of pro leagues for 'Olympic breaks' is ridiculous.

Plus the events themselves are becoming comical. Tokyo added skateboarding, surfing, karate and sport climbing. I guess Karate is OK as an Olympic event but the other three lol

And Paris Olympics is now adding 'breakdancing' Pretty soon cooking will be in there with Ramsay swearing at all the chefs lol
