Had a bad year last year but the previous ones were pretty good.
I’m sure they are banking on a rebound year and as a rental we could retain a bit of salary at the deadline and possibly get a second rounder for him - Pegullaville

You're trying to be funny
But you're not
It's annoying, if you don't have anything worth while to say, go back to your blog, if you want to actually contribute then you're more than welcome to stay, but your schtick is getting old.

I guess it’s time to troll the rangers blog to talk about how the better half of the team is untouchable. |

I imagine this what KA's day also consists of. Every 10 minutes someone calls:
"Can we have him for garbage yet?"
"No."

If the Buchnevich trade and the Goodrow signing is any indication then the Rangers are in for a treat with him at the helm.

I'd tell him to stay at this point.
Rot in the press box if he wants whatever. We want that top pick anyways.
He can't trade himself.
Sit back. Shat up. Play a couple games with Skinner and you'll be gone before the leaves hit the ground

Really seems like he has no idea who has what kind of value... which makes sense as he has Kakko as the #1 piece

honestly what he is doing is no different than 100 posts on how reinhart sucked each week
or risto sucked
or revisiting how bad evander kane was
or crying that Murray drafted a skunk instead of a german

Honestly, Buch is a bit overrated.
Prior to the most recent season, he was our most inconsistent forward next to Kreider. He would be the best player on the ice for 3 or 4 games and then invisible for the next 10.
Last year was his most consistent season, but it was a short season, and I can see him regressing back to his inconsistent ways.
I also like a lot about what I'm reading on Blais. Seems like the exact type of player the Rangers needed, along with Goodrow.
That trade and signing helped add a new dimension to the Rangers that they desperately needed. |

Paying someone who averages .33 points per game, and has for his career, north of 3.5 for long term is a bad contract, regardless of other things he brings to the table. He's a guy you bring in for 2 years when you're ready to compete (maybe the Rangers are) at small salary so you can actually have impact players earning, imo of course.

I agree that Goodrow was an overpayment. I don't think his buyout numbers are that bad though.
It's clear Drury has a plan. He wants to bring in proven Stanley Cup winners and gritty players, and Blais and Goodrow are both so he's essentially checking two boxes off at the same time with each. He was willing to pay a bit of a premium to get that to happen.
Goodrow's contract is what happens when you acquire a guy like that through free agency. It happens every single year where a bottom 6 guy with good playoff experience gets overpaid. That's why I actually like the Buch trade more than others, because we were able to get Blais as a cost-controlled asset. Just adding Goodrow alone wasn't enough to really change the identity of the Rangers bottom 6, so if we didn't get Blais via trade, I could've seen them signing another bottom 6er like Cizikas to a contract pushing 4mm per year as well.
I think the Rangers can live with 1 Goodrow contract on the books, but a second one in the same offseason would be tough. |

After two years people wanted to write Buch off also. Took him 4 years to develop. I was fine moving Buch, but the return sucked. I was over it after a few hours. - nyrangers2 Its almost like their is a different expectation from a player that was selected 2nd overall compared to a player selected in the 3rd round. Crazy, wonder why that is happening.
