Well said.
Here is a different view on the Tampa situation.
https://www.si.com/hockey...ews/nhl-cap-circumvention - Reubenkincade
i somewhat agree. if the league (teams and bettman) were really mad at the LTIR circumvention, they would have done something long ago.
even something as bettman making a statement/warning on the subject would be a signal but they chose to do nothing.
this makes me believe that no one really cares... until it becomes a PR loser. TBL have only done what a lot of other teams have done. the issue is that they have done it better and gotten better results. this causes more critical eyes to become outspoken (even players now) but no one is b!tching about the teams that lost but did the same thing (to varying degrees.)
so at the end of the day, if the league steps in now after so many years, it's not because they really give a sh!t about this, it's because it's making the league and their salary cap look bad. |

I was told on here that LTIR was just a place to put bad players, who were signed to really bad contracts, to clear cap space and a roster spot for more flexible off season moves/acquisitions. No long term injury needed. |

If teams/players get creative and a player goes on LTIR for a leave such as a mental health issue, then returns just in time for the playoffs, I would guess the league or teams will be up in arms over that, as it is an situation where no surgery was done and no physical evidence available.
I guess the league would look at their situational playbook, as was suggested by Lamoriello in that one article.
I could see teams trying to get even more creative than normal, now that the league doesn't even appear to be applying the 10% rule during the off-season.
Not sure it even exists anymore. |

Does anyone know a place I can get some gloves for ATVing in and around Pitt Meadows and surrounding areas? I know Holeshot generally has good prices, but still over $50. |

I have some “mechanic” type gloves from Canadian Tire that I wear on the motorcycle in the summer that are decent for protection, not too heavy and cheap. |

I’m sure Canadian Tire or Cabelas carry something that suits your budget. |

She will want something Pink and White to match her helmet. I may just bite the bullet and buy some pair for $50. |

I am not disagreeing about the level playing field, or lack of one. I have never liked the cap anyways, so if a team or teams find ways around it, so be it, but don't turn around later, when a team does something to spread out cap over several years and retroactively ding them.
Teams like Tampa, Toronto, Chicago and any Lou Lamariello team have always found ways around the rules, without breaking the rules. - Reubenkincade
Canucks found a way without breaking the rules... the rules changed after. They still got spanked for it. I hear people say "the league warned teams that there would be punishment for circumnavigating the cap when the new CBA is put in place"... yet that only applied to a couple of teams for some reason. Teams continued doing it to this day and have won cups because of it.

Even Canadian tire sells the work gloves that has the armor on the back of the hand and fingers that mechanics etc like. They work great for dirt biking/ATV's.
