Hence the categorization of "team friendly". If G wants top $$, I really believe he will not be playing for the Flyers. - jd250
Have to be realistic. I'd be shocked if Giroux is not re-signed.

Hello, time to wake up from your dreams. Giroux is not taking 4M a year. - MJL
If he's the ultimate team player he will take a series of $1M one year deals until he hangs them up

Is Laughton much different than Raffl or Pitlick in the grand scheme of things? The answer is no & certainly not 2 million different - Fopa21
I'm still miffed about the Raffl deal last year. |

Disagree. His deal was market value. - MJL
Just like the risto trade was market value.

Thompson is junkyard trash, and if you want to believe different because the Flyers beats spew out fantasyland nonsense, by all means.
He got shattered playing shutdown against Barzal, and he has no business on a quality club at this point in his career. - FlyerFan3260
Thompson is very capable of taking defensive zone shifts and playing on the PK as a 4th line center.

No one is arguing he’s good. He is a perfect junkyard trash player to sit in the press box & occasionally play 7 minutes a game as 4th line center if injuries happen |

& he’s developing by not playing? That is the opposite of developing. The point is to get the kids meaningful minutes. So you sign a stiff like Thompson to eat popcorn cuz he’s okay with it - Fopa21
I’m sure it will figure itself out through injuries or whatnot, if someone has to sit for a bit so be it |

To be fair I think the entire Flyers team struggled the last 30 games of the season. I mean, Fletcher described what it was like on the team last year, no energy, no smiles, just a glaze over the team. I really think we need to understand this and discount a lot of the struggles that were going on last year, especially towards the end of the season. - jd250
tired of the BS excuses when it comes to this team

Hence why he is the 12/13 forward. It’s not like the signed him for PP minutes - Fopa21
He will be overplayed like the first time he was here. Remember when he was getting more minutes in a game than Jake and Giroux. I member |

I'm going to keep an open mind on Ristolainen but I don't think he is ever going to be the player that you're glad you gave up what you did and on top of it had to re-sign to a relatively big contract. I think it is a big mistake to give up what they did for a player that is not cost controlled moving forward. I hope I'm wrong, I really do. As far as the 13th pick. You've continually down played the value of that pick. The comment on Hextall is absurd. Most of Hextall's 1st round picks have been good ones. - MJL
I guess 3 out of 5 are good, glad i didn't get 60% in school though, but for hextall we can say that is good.

being a team player doesn't equate to being stupid. The flyers have wasted his career. Now that also falls on him as he should have wanted out years ago.

He will not be in the press box though. That is part of the argument I believe.

Well that we have to wait & see on. I think that basically comes down to Frost’s camp. He has to show he can play at 3C pushing laughts to 4C & Thompson to 13th forward |

I don't mind the Hart deal and it seems like they don't have to do too much extreme stuff to get Sanheim in. I'm more worried about next year:
I think we'll be lucky to get Giroux at 5M and Coots at 8M. Could easily be more.
If Farabee keeps up his pace, he'll be due a large raise.
I have to assume Fletcher is going to extend Risto after paying so much to get him and he's not taking a pay cut in his prime age range.
The cap might go up a small amount next year, but I don't see any way to pull this off without paying someone to take JVR's 7M.

I'm a big fan of yours.
I'm no math wiz but I do know that Hextall made 8 first round picks as Flyers GM |

form what I looked at, JVR has to go, then they should be able to fit everyone in. JVR with one year left will have some takers.

well I hope the Flyers are reading this board.
I am thinking they can get some free training on how to negotiate, cap management and building a cup champ.

Even if we exclude Frost and O'Brien, Hextall still has more than 3 hits. You have such a thirst to come at me that you don't even realize how you make yourself look. It's very humorous.

They have shown to actually be quite in tune with fan perception.
Or at the very least, trying to influence it. There was very pro organization leaks immediately post Hextall being fired, as just an example. |
