He'll rebuild for 8 years, maybe get some decent 10-20 overall draft picks. We'll see if he learned i guess - bradster

Good lord. - hello it's me 2050
He is that clueless on a regular basis - black_francis
If I’m really that clueless, by all means clear things up. We protected a player from getting scooped up in the expansion draft who may not make the line up, explain why.
I look forward to this response. |

It was explained to you beyond belief many times in the past.
Stop and think why he was protected and why JVR wasn't. Then what is the answer you come up with.

Answer is...
the gravitational force of the equator multiplied by PI and the train that left the station at 6pm going north by northwest. |

Don't forget you have multiply the distance by the number of seats in the train

CF was wanted the Krack to take a high end contract, he protected Nak to encourage that, you can see that the Krack actually took a non NHL player

I feel like the Flyers could win the cup next season and people on here would still complain we gave up too much for Ristolianen or signed Nate Thompson as a 4th line center.

very true, I don't agree with all that they have done, I can justify the moves one way or the other but I am a life long fan and once the team is set I am behind them 100%. I know I don't know how to do their job, they couldn't do mine, it is fun to comment and speculate but let the season begin. - wcorvette
Nice comment. I’m with you. 100%. Bothers me when I see “fans” begging for them to fail because they didn’t do it the way they liked. Ugh. |

I’m excited to see what the new team can bring. I expect that with all the changes at least we’ll be able to complain about different issues. Ie. please no more slow starts. |

I notice this a lot as well. I’m of the mind that if chucks moves help us move the needle to make the playoffs and win a round or two as we move to contention I’ll be ecstatic. Most of the moves I can see the rationale and hope they work. As we he didn’t tear down the work building up prospects and picks. If it doesn’t work out, you certainly won’t see me saying great! I told you so. |

I posted previously why no one in the media has asked what they are doing to prevent the slow starts this upcoming season. Issue has plagued this team for how long, once it starts people just put there hands up. Do something, start practice up-tempo to get them going when they hit the ice. Let’s pray the organization is looking into it. |

I really don't have any doubts that this team should be a playoff team. I have no doubt that they will be improved and more fun to watch. However I won't be ecstatic with just making the playoffs and winning a round or two. Not with what they done. Just being a playoff team while being capped out is a failure as far as I'm concerned. I witnessed that level of hockey for years under Holmgren. Always going for it and signing top free agents, trading picks. They got close once and that was great. I've set my sights higher. That's why I'm not 100% on board with the moves they made.

I never read those messages, moron! These messages you claim were explained to me, I don’t even know they exist.
I never said they were going to or should have protected JvR. These comments were never made and they were made, it’s because Bill and others expected JvR to be protected prior to the list being publicly released.
Last, nobody expected Aube-Kubel to be protected. Absolutely nobody expected this. Anyone who did expect this is a lair.
So keep spinning whatever web you’re trying to spin. |

This was the case for all fans. It was always speculation and wishful thinking.
Now, thank you for properly explaining this, even if we already knew this. As for this spin that I wanted JvR protected, this isn’t true. I wanted to stay young and protect Patrick and Myers. Anything else is lie. |

It was stated numerous times that they protected NAK to give Seattle one less option to choose. Because they were trying to steer them towards one of the bigger salaried players.
It didn't work, but that was the reason stated.
