Oh yeah, probably 5 years.
Power and Portillo are roommates. I expect them both to go pro next April. Portillo probably spends 22-23 in Roch and then comes up.
I am all aboard the Portillo hype train - Hank Balling
Me too, kid is so smooth. Didn't know that about the roommate thing either, that's kinda cool. |

Yeah he mentioned it in his presser. That's great news because the Sabres probably won't get Petersen'd again |

We missed you buddy. We need your voice of reason around here, the sane folks were cowering in lurkerville as discussions of Okposo as Captain occurred and other very scary things. Welcome back. |

If I may, you're 100% right on the height thing being way overvalued. Cossa going before Wallstedt is a prime example.
That being said Levi is years off. While he had looked great in that 7 game stretch, that was for a stacked CAN team as well. Keep in mind he hasn't even played major junior or NCAA yet. He's had one year in the CCHL, a lower league in Alberta, he won't be in RCH for at least 3 years unless something amazing happens. - QuinnFan
If I'm remembering correctly, you also gave a full analysis regarding Levi that it's more then height that he has to overcome, correct? |

Just like we don't know if Portillo will turn out or if UPL takes the next step. Just cause Levi was a 7th rnd pick doesn't mean Sh!t right know he could end up being the best goalie in are system. Ullmark was a 6th round pick. - Buff36
Precisely. All we can do is watch his development. |

One last thing from me on the Reinhart trade:
Buchnevich netted the Rangers Sammy Blais and a 2nd.
Teams were scared of arbitration. Was it a good return for Reinhart? No. But it wasn't terrible |

Maybe Drury is just an awful GM but I think KA outdueled him there on the respective returns |

It is in many ways, including how Zito structured it.
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/503263
$2M signing bonus each year, with his 2nd year being the top earning one at $8M total.
His final year is $4.5M after the signing bonus, which means if things went wrong on Florida after 2 seasons or during the 3rd season, he'd be easily be tradable as his cap hit would be $3.25M but his actual salary would only be $2.25M due to the signing bonus having been paid.

I don’t think Buch= Reinhart though
Reinhart is the better player, more consistent, year younger, and has the ability to play center
I think both teams made pretty brutal trades |

The problem is that if he gets hurt during the year then you get nothing. Too much to risk. - Slump Buster
And most Contending teams wouldn't be able to fit 7Mill under cap at Trade Deadline, I don't see why everyone thinks this was a fleece, it simply wasn't. |

They're very similar
PB is better offensively and on the PK and Reinhart is better defensively and on the PP |

I don't mind holding the Sabres Organization Accountable for positive, as well as, negative decisions and actions. It just seems some are trying too hard to label the Samson trade as worse than it truly was. For all the reasons listed by other posters already, FW position not getting as much value, signing ARB at HIGH mark, not wanting to be part of the soft rebuild, etc, etc, etc, but the relentless attacks on the goalie prospect are simply non based in reality. If he hadn't showed the high end ability in the most recent WJ championships, outperformign Carey Price for God's sake, I would feel different. He may not pan out, Goalies are really hard to predict and even harder to develop. But I'm glad the organization saw something in him, targeted him and brought him in with the other Goalie prospects, it's a position of need and he fits the age range. He wasn't just some random 7th rd name on some in some teams prospect pool. Getting a 1st and this particular Goalie Prospect was a decent return for a 7M dollar rental at the deadline. I believe it was a fair trade.
When posters use hyperbole in a negative on Adams, it diminishes their legitimate critiques.
K. Adams received a "Fair" return for S. Rienhart,
(My favorite player during this mess) true professional, hard working, durable, doesn't whine, for f's sake, He should've been Captain! |

Problem with this is that he wasn't able to leave. There was no deadline this offseason.
It's a very, very poor return considering Levi is a C level prospect - sbroads24
It also created a bigger divide between the team and Eichel as his agents spoke out soon after, as unprofessional as that was, just imagine what has been going on behind closed doors. |

These score cards are not great when isolating team/teammate impacts. Buch played on a better offensive team with better players (this season)
This was also Buchnevich’s career best season, while Reinhart has consistently been really good. |

So You are suggesting, that these two forwards are not "similar or about the same in their talent levels on the ice" ?
You're beating a dead horse because you don't want to suggest that Drury, not Adams was the one that got a "Poor" return while Adams got a "Fair" return. |

It's a 3-year sample size and Reinhart played with Eichel for vast swaths of the first two. I think it's pretty fair |
