It’s 38 in the shade on my deck. Not even a cold beer is enough to keep me out here.

Stay hydrated folks, especially you elderly type, this heat can be dangerous for your health.

Both excellent acquisitions, going to be a great year for the Canucks
- Makita

Yup, win or lose they're still going to play 82 games.

Myers & OEL.

I mean, I agree, but it’s not like they are foregoing better defensemen because of it.

The feel in here is most are apprehensive or pessimistic on the season.

I’m not sitting on the fence. It will be a far better season than last & lots of fun. I’m hitching up to the team now idc if others do or don’t.

- Nighthawk

Saying it will be a far better season than last isn't really saying much. That's essentially making the playoffs and losing a tightly contested 7 game series, far better than last season.

I actually think we have a decent team heading into this season and am more optimistic than I have been in awhile. However, as a Canucks fan for years i'm taking a guarded approach.

Being better than worst isn’t really a high bar.

Expecting first from worst might be too high a bar.

I guess we’ll see.

💯 I’m happy making the playoffs and NOT winning the cup. I don’t care about the cup

Playoffs are fun and all but the goal IS winning the cup. Then again, hard to win when you don't make it to the dance.

Sure I guess. I don’t think a Canadian team will win a cup again. So playoffs and I’m happy.

Nonis for GM. Gillis and Burkie won but they sucked according to the group. Benning and Nonis lost but we need patience. Hire Nonis to help Benning!!!!....

Canadian franchises have so many things going against them. It’s not a desirable place for the players, the pressure to win causes poor, impatient, management decisions, two of the seven franchises have some of the worst meddling ownership in the league (Vancouver & Ottawa), it’s just going to be very very difficult for a Canadian team to win a Cup again.

They’re part of the problem, not the solution. That said, the Canucks made some nice changes this year, if they can get EP40 and QH signed the season looks promising....finally.

The Dolphins haven't won since 1973. They enjoy nearly every benefit the NFL has to offer. Excuses, excuses. Oilers likely would have won in 2006 had their goalie not been injured.

I'd say we likely would have won with Hamhuis/Malholtra.

If your organization, speaking to the NFL, doesn’t realize you need a franchise QB to win a Lombardi, you’ve got a poorly managed football team. When did Dan Marino retire? They’ve had how many opportunities to draft one?
