A question to those might know…
When I retire collecting my union pension & I can collect EI if can start a claim does it count as income & reduce my EI? - Nighthawk
I know with CPP and Old Age Pension I was still entitled to my EI ( they said it was fine) but am not sure with Union Pension. I would think so but call them and ask them. |

They totally bailed, of course they did; neither wanted back, if they did, they'd probably still be with team.
It's not an asylum, it's a poorly run hockey team - there is more professionalism and competence on the ice than in the GM/Owner's box. And if it continues this way more players will be out... - k

Winnipeg just announced today they are going to open the arena to full capacity but proof of double vax will be required . Canucks just announced they have not made any final decision for Vancouver or Abby but are leaning the same way. |

Helps drowned out all the road construction? - Shuswap Wap
It's bad everywhere right now. Catching up after the COVID garbage. Calgary-Red Deer-EDM construction all bad. Plus it's very poor planning. Red Deer does have one the THE worst traffic light systems in the western hemisphere however |

You're mad at capitalism, not poor people. They can't afford quality goods cause they're below the poverty line, but also can't get ahead and don't understand why jobs don't pay enough or aren't available.... Spoiler alert, because rich people make their poop in China to pad their profits. Like fat bastard said, it a vicious cycle. - noisewater
First, I’m not mad at all. Second, rich people? |

Yes. Any money you collect and is taxable is considered income and will reduce the amount of EI you collect. If your pension is really good you won’t be able to collect any EI. |

I think that's what EP is saying. He wants to see what they have and if they don't keep improving, he'll find a better fit.
A couple of points about the quote:
1) timing - I wouldn't be surprised if his agents told him to be honest in interviews about willing to leave to win. He's been a pretty blunt interview but this timing seems a little too good.
2) substance - nothing he said was deniable. He is not dumb. He knows that if they don't take a step forward this and the next season, JB is done. If JB gets canned, they're closer to rebuild than compete (obviously) so he's putting the franchise on notice that he won't spend his prime on a rebuild. Totally understandable.
3) reaction - nothing to freak out over but it's funny hearing about how the media Stokes the fire and/or the hysterical fans. Imagine how much fun "we" would have if McJesus said this. - RealityChecker
I'm all for Petey spewing 'truth' but if he's not willing to help being a 'part' of the winning culture here then see ya later bud. What we don't need is Petey pulling a Kesler and saying 'I will never be a part of any rebuild'. And that's where this is going. I agree don't freak out but at the same time we have to be careful how flexible the club will be with players stating 'if we don't have a winner in 3-4 years I'm gone'
McDavid wouldn't pull that crap as it's classless. He knows EDM is close and will stick it out.
Regardless of how most feel about ownership and management.

Agent JP Barry on Pettersson comments : Do not read too much into it, he was not going to say he wants to be part of a losing organization. Elias says what he feels and he wants to win now, not later. He is excited about next year. - VANTEL
It's amazing how these things have to be explained. |

Once I read ‘but if he’s not willing etc’ I stopped. It’s exactly like Twitter with ppl interpreting what isn’t there.

Assuming your pension is greater than $500 a week/ $24k a year tax in, there ain't much point.
Not sure what you do for a living but I'd recommend going the public service route if possible.
Retire at full pension and go back to doing the exact same job as a consultant lol. |

Bingo! That’s exactly what I will do. As soon as I’m 56 I’ll “retire” from Fraser Health and start Project Managing as a consultant. Tons of short term (2 or 3 year stints) PM jobs out there. |
