Hughes though. We know the NHL pays players for scoring. Hughes one of the best scoring Dmen in the league. He's a defensemen though and not very good defensively. Is that really much different than a defensive defensemen that doesn't score.

Nighthawk keeps saying 6x6 for Hughes. Which I think is a good number. I think you would be hard to get Hughes at the same number as Myers unless you tell Quinn that he doesn't play the PK and hasn't been very good 5v5. His shooting percentage also dropped last season.

The problem with a longer deal is it's boom or bust, not much in between. I think because of point totals you're not going to get a bargain. I think i'd rather see a 2-3 year deal.
