I know this probably wasn't meant to be offensive, but what is going on down there is just horrendous. The footage of the civilians trying to gain access to the military planes leaving is just awful. Such a sad situation.

Reminds me of the South Vietnamese trying to jump on the struts of the Hueys leaving Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War. A lot of parallels can be drawn, both were (attempted) nation-building wars, both failed their main objectives and both had the US pulling out in humiliation and defeat.

yeah, I'd just create a throwaway account with totally fake info and such, and if you're worried about data tracking and such use a vpn and adblocker or some poop, there's not much they'll find out about you that way

I think at some point in time, I must have created an account though even though I have no evidence anywhere that I did except I get about 45 emails a day about what's happening on twitter.

My take is their country is their biz til they request help or a valid reason to intervene which isn’t economic nor a political agenda.

Of course the US will see it in their own way.

I have all notifications turned off. I never get email, sms or push notifications from any social media sites. I brows when I browse, but there is never a time where I’m like “OMG someone liked my post” or whatever.
