His response was one of surprise. So either he wasn't listening to the coaches or the coaches were being to passive in delivering it.

Either way the message has been delivered and received, and many here want to trade him before his response to being an healthy scratch when he's had an entire off season to try and do something about it.

It's time to put up or adios amigo.

When playing hockey a player doesn't see in Strome's case their "decent" stats. It's a man against man competition and if Strome hasn't realized he's usually a step behind and fights a losing battle to get pucks he's simply hopeless. He shouldn't need a coach to tell him that.

That's brutal. It wouldn't surprise me if a good chunk of the money they pick up doing this is lost by loss of sweater sales. Don't blame you a bit.

Chicago needs Indian Motorcycles to sponsor them, put the whole world on edge then.

I have and I get it. Just thinking about trying to follow the puck when it could be going over a massive harris bank or binnys add in the offensive zone. Also distracts the vision at times.

I am sure Reinsdorf kid let it slip about the money the NBA rakes in for those ads, and the Wirtz's put this plan into effect with a "hot rush"......

Far as strome goes....agreed with others. See no place for him and would prefer not having to watch him skate into the zone seconds later than his teammates......again, another 1st round pick Bowman took a swing at missed.....tons of those and seems to be a trend this organization is following.....fair to question their scouting on some of these as they miss more on these 1st round pickups far often than they hit.

I was at the Stadium in 1966 for the Detroit Chicago semi-finals when CBS did the game, and had huge strobe lights suspended from the face of the second balcony, and the ice was painted a deep blue. At that time the Stadium was not air conditioned, and people were allowed to smoke. Harvey Wittenberg had to go on the PA and tell the fans to stop smoking, as it was fogging up the camera. That was when my dad (who smoked perfect garcia cigars), and about 10,000 other patrons lit up their favorite smoke.

Because you think the adds will be on the Jersey's sold to the public? Or just on principle?

I acknowledge it isn't the same for you. But it is to me. I suspect many who dislike the idea now will forget about it later. Not saying you're one of them.

An official looking jersey sold to the public would have the advertisements on them I would think. Look at the soccer jerseys you can buy. They are cluttered with ads.

Let’s just hope the NHL jerseys aren’t full of huge gaudy advertisements like European hockey team jerseys.

I personally would rather have limited ads, but I know too many wouldn't be a game-changer for me. I also tend to favor things that increase Hockey Related Revenue, half of which go to the players.

Just not my particular hill to die on.

Lots of gullible consumers buy things much more questionable than jerseys with advertisements on them.

Our trip started in Barcelona went through Italy, Greece and Germany he asked specifically for a Messi jersey. In my ignorance I thought he was referring to all the ads. But apparently Messi was a player. I did have me some Dortmunder however.

Talking about? More like alluding to the bad ratings in my critique of Eklund is justified as they are one in the same. You becoming an emotional drama queen, that’s on you.

A possibility, but I'm keeping Beaudin if I'm Stan. He seemed to take a huge step last offseason. I'm curious to see if he takes another step this year.
- Tyler Cameron

I would have to agree on keeping Beaudin unless the trade brings back another D prospect like Erik Brannstrom or Jacob Bernard-Docker from the Senators (as an example) in exchange for Strome + Beaudin. The Senators would need to add a draft pick.

The Wild are supposedly in the hunt for a center so maybe Strome + Beaudin for Calen Addison or Ryan O'Rourke + a draft pick.

Same with the Sabres for Ryan Johnson or Mattias Samuelsson + a draft pick.

Gallant used Beaudin in all 8 games at the World Championships. Great experience for a kid like that. Like almost all young defenceman, he needs lots of ice time, competition against men and a league to learn in - like AHL Rockford for awhile.

The 'let the kids play' mantra doesn't work in most cases for Dmen in the NHL unless the player is Doughty, Bourque, Potvin, Pronger etc.

I believe in the "Rush 'em to Ruin 'em" thinking. The list of those guys is extremely long.

- RickJ

Good points about having D prospects marinate as long as possible to make them fully NHL ready.

On Pronger, he actually struggled mightily when the Whalers first brought him along. I would say the same to a certain degree with Hedman and Dahlin.

Would a little time in the AHL been good for their development? Moot point now for Hedman who's been a beast ever since. Dahlin is not there yet.
