Won some AFC Championships. Eichel can't even win best in the division. Know what you're getting at but Jack will never mature here. Or ever IMO. - Pingleheimer

That’s all I’m saying
And i haven’t been arguing that Jack will be mature either

Bruh it is. His dad was something like a factory floor boss and his mom was a nurse. That's not exactly peasant money but it's not rich either. Eichel chose his own god forsaken path. Now he can ride it out with our rebuilding team until he comes back and swallows his pride and gets himself traded for what he's worth?
I'm talking in circles now but I'd rather just him gtfo of this org and town and ply his trade elsewhere. And I hope they send us a first and name him captain same year but maybe I'm just getting greedy - Pingleheimer
Those are very comfortably middle-class jobs at the very least dude. I actually found them on Facebook and did quite a bit of stalking; Believe me, they are far from working-class. But conveniently, no actual information to be found except some kind of narrative being pushed on Buffalo for over 6 months, because the NHL fixed that lottery drawing to send McDavid to Edmonton and Eichel to Buffalo. He was even dating the daughter of one of the largest car dealerships in the WNY area. The story wrote itself and was set in stone.
From what I pieced together, his dad is at the very least, a salaried factory manager and his mother is at the very least an RN. They would 100% have upper middle-class income of close to 150k.
Eichel also went to a PRIVATE COLLEGE with a 19% acceptance rate and an average annual cost of $75,000.00 USD before aid - Let's assume Eichel had a scholarship. It's still a 30k annual cost. And his parents absolutely make over 100k per year combined, so he was paying close to 50k per year to go to a Private Institution run by WASPS - you know, the ruling elite of America?
(frank)ing believe me, that kid ain't blue-collar nor is he working-class in origin. But the media love shoving that crap down the throats of Buffalonians because they eat that poop right up for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Because the lack of class-consciousness.
The dude is a rich wanker from Boston, an entitled, spoiled, pampered, upper middle-class douche-bag.
Believe that. |

You think he actually had to pay to go to college? I’m genuinely curious, as I would think that those athletic scholarships would cover it, and he could live at home with mommy if he’d wanted to. I have no idea, just know like football players get their ride paid for with stipends for living and such, pre NIL rules.

I don't believe so. Average tuition after aid says 31k -
Aid includes grants and scholarships from the institution, state, and federal government

Most Universities require Freshman to dorm, as well. I mean, he only went there 1 year when all was said and done, but I don't think NCAA hockey is the cash-cow that football is... And football players are predominantly lower-middle class and working-class - A stark contrast to hockey, which has always and will always be a middle-class and upper-middle class sport. Therefor, football players are eligible for more financial aid and scholarship money. Seems like they are not 100% paid for but close.
BU is also in the Division I FCS for football - The secondary division after the "top" schools. I don't think they get the same treatment as the Division I FBS, but I really am not sure.
As far as the hockey program, yeah it's as obscure as it gets.
The whole thing is complicated and sketchy though. The more money you have/make, the more free things you get. |

ROR can, allegedly, drunk drive his truck into a Tim Hortons and no one bats an eye, but Eichel's "mean" to people, so (frank) that guy? |

OK - you went deep. I don't claim to know anything about the research that you have done and that is worth something. Only spoke on what I thought I knew. All that aside, I was just trying to say that based on what I had heard from Sabres.com videos in the past that Jack wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth... but does it even matter? Nope. Josh Allen was born to like the third biggest farmers in his area if I'm not mistaken and they are def not poor either. But what a difference between those two young men. If you could even call the one from Boston a young man at this point.
My point was never to defend Jack Eichel. I (frank)ing hate that guy lol. |

The difference here is that although most farmers of that pedigree are going to be "millionaires" on paper, they work their (frank)ing asses off and get shafted by the corporations that the government lets get away with systematically destroying independent farmers and farms.
Josh Allen can actually be considered to be "blue-collar" in this case, farmers being one of the only exceptions to the rule. They work their land, they get their hands and feet dirty doing it, and most of them are cash-broke because of companies like Monsanto bending them over.

I get you, but again, sabres.com videos that were funded and produced by billionaires who knew how to exploit the local fanbase - The mere mention of "blue-collar" or "working-class" makes people in Buffalo ejaculate. On top of that, make him seem like he scraped and clawed his way to the NHL, yeah right. There's a reason he left after his freshman year - He could afford to.
The Pegulas sold him as their prized horse and he failed to win even one of the Triple-Crown races. They sure knew how to promote and sell him to the fanbase, though. |

You are correct. We all busted a nut over Eichel for nothing. Pretty sure Eichel is German for acorn or nut or something like that too, so it's fitting |

Not even trying to go off on you, just, it gets my blood boiling when they shove this blue-collar crap down our throats at every intersection - Every single Bills game it's all the announcers friggin' talk about, it's just so grimey and forced. |
