Howard Simon wasn't lying the past two weeks: Zanzibar is a pretty sweet song. The horn playing is nuts. - lacaprup
Rose he knows he's such a credit to the game, but the Yankees get the headlines every time.
Such an awesome line and makes me think how underrated Charlie Hustle must've been in the late 70's.

Buffalo acted like a bad parent. We gave an already obnoxious, spoiled brat everything we could and it still wasn’t enough to keep him from throwing a tantrum. |

It's annoying how fans from other teams insist that Jack is this poor soul who is being medically kidnapped and held hostage by the Sabres. Not saying anyone would be thrilled about this situation but he has to shoulder some responsibility in this too.
Just tired of hearing of it. No one put a gun to his head and shoved $10MM/year into his pockets as he cried out and screamed No means No!
Front Office brought in guys such as Kane, Skinner, Hall, all thought to be "high skilled guys to play on his wing" & obviously we know how those moves worked out. Still, it isn't as if they didn't try.
Also slapped a C on him so that he didn't have to feel like he was in the shadow of that guy who went one pick before him. You know, the one he thinks he is better than.
Funny how prior to his availability being the biggest open secret in the league in a while, other fans/writers would blast him as "GM/Coach/Captain Eichel" and talk about how he was a locker room cancer. They were actually right about that part! Now, suddenly, everyone would LOVE to add him for two bags of pucks, 6-er of gatorade bottles and half his salary retained.
Jack got 80 million to lead this team and quit on the whole thing 3 years later. Yeah, it's sucked here for a while. But he could have been part of a solution and he wasn't. Last year's 18 games made that perfectly clear to me.
Sorry for the rant would just like to rip this bandaid off and move along. - Pingleheimer
Jack could always file for Medical Arbitration, I wonder why he has not done that yet seeing that his whole medical team says his surgery is the preferred surgery to fix his issues??

Maybe I’ll put up a billboard explaining to Kappo Kakko where the back of the net is

If he started a GoFundMe for Sabres fans I think he would have your billboard paid for. Certainly worth 10 of my dollars. All you have to do is have some of that social media advertising skill of which I know nothing.
Imagine a fan billboard fight across cities |

Had to double and triple check that it wasn’t Craig Buttons list.
I know Wheeler is on paternity leave but I didn’t think he had a stint in rehab either |

Was he the one that hit the hospitality tent in practice?
If you ever get a chance, listen to the interview he did on Eric Wood's podcast. He was not a good NFL QB but he seems like a real solid dude. |

I'm enjoying watching you carry the baton for Power. If you could scribble Quinn's name onto it too, that would be Lumbergh Great

Power was the best prospect in this class, and it wasn’t really close.
Hopefully he ends up the best player, but the Sabres made the right choice |

So I did some Eichel trade pondering and the roster ramifications. After trading Eichel, you'll be below the floor by 6,700,000, after signing all RFAs to their contract projections. You'll also be left with a roster of 14F, 7D and 2G, which adds up to 24, one over the limit.
I'm not sure what their plan is at center, which is woefully thin. What are you doing with Eakin and Hayden. I feel like Hayden was signed to be an enforcer here at a friendly Pegula price. Whatever, he probably stays on the bench half the year. Eakin is really the only other question mark. Are they forced to keep him? Can they try to pry a role playing center in the Eichel trade and send Eakin to Rochester to clear roster space? Probably.
So with Eichel gone, you're already at +1. And you need to take back probably 7M in salary. Is that one player? Two? Do the Sabres reach out a team like Chicago to take Andrew Shaw for a pick? Maybe 2 injured players? Cause you're probably grabbing at least 2 NHL players for Jack. Puts you at 26 bodies. I doubt the team wants even more salary back.
The logistics here seem really complicated. Do you trade Olofsson and or Roots and demote Eakin to hit the roster limit? Getting this done by the draft would have made this entirely easier. |

You best get comfortable with Anderson and UPL, cause that's written in sharpie. You don't trade a UFA before the season starts.
Those propspects might be playing in the NHL this year. The Sabres are stuck with too many players and not enough salary. They almost need to trade for a dead body. And whatever vets they get, they probably want to ship them for 1sts and prospects anyway.
