goalies are highly mental.. getting shelled for 6 goals every time you play in youur rookie year can ruin a player that has it...
- SabresFaninIndiana

god if that is the case Anderson might quit during the 2nd period of game 5. I mean it has happened before (twice)

Right, and that room to grow might lead to better seasons in years 2-4 than if he wasn't afforded it, but eventually players figure it out. If they have "it", they will eventually succeed.

I hear ya. I'd still let him marinate in Roch this year and get the starters reps that he really hasn't gotten professionally yet. I want to see him post a .920+ over 50 games in the A. If the Sabres were a goalie away from being really good then it would be more tempting to me.

Anderson is also 40 so he'll get some injury games

Ok the biggest question on my mind today... will Diggs land in the top 30 of the NFL Top 100 this year and will Allen land inside the top 20?? Excited to find out if anyone else makes the cut.

Goalie Academy at 95 was crazy to me but at least it shows we can 100% take these guys at their word when they say that it is a year-to-year league

Yeah, that was a shocker he is rated so high in the top 100. White is definitely top 3 corner in the league.

And that is without being a bias bills fan.

Completely agree Baller

Also , we want Rochester to breed winners. Come up as a winning group of friends. Build relationships and form bonds.

The entire Rochester group including Taylor needed to be fired. Pegula's spent heavy on ahl veterans.

I think kA and uncle terry want to look smart with the eichel trade. The whole mceichel tank was clearly approved from the top down.

The pegula's need top talent in return. Save some face.

Paying his salary for a portion of this season (tdl after awesome healthy usa performance at the Olympics) , gives a team 5 playoff runs with eichel for:

20 games / we retain 1/2 at the deadline
1-1.5 million next year
7 helps the floor
7 helps the floor

We use some of the eichel capital to get rid of skimmer in 2 years when we need room.

I don't disagree that it is a fine move, I'm just saying I don't personally see it. And the return has to be worth it. Conceivably, Car got a first from Tor to dump Marleau at 6M for one year. What's 3 (pending the first year of deadline) per cost a team? 2 firsts on top of Eichel's price? Idk, starts to run a little high on the price tag.

A few things:

You can only retain 50% of the contract so a max of $5 million per year

You can't pick how much you're retaining each year, it's a you're retaining 2$ million for the length of the contract each year not in year 1,3,4,7 kind of thing.

I'd like to see him stay in Rochester too, but if he doesn't, I don't look at it as the end of the world.

I respect your opinion.

Retaining salary on eichel opens up the return.of:

Byfield
Hughes
Dach
Laferierre

7 million $ jack .......

Also: falls in a strange senario where eichel doesnt play this season . He's done here.

The injury fits the Olympics timeline and he can sit healthy and wait for a trade at the deadline.

Surely getting a stud and 2022 and 23 1st rounders.

Kevs attitude is, if they can hang, we'll keep em, if not, (frank) em. He said as much after free agency.

Chicago needs room, and Shaw is on the books for $3.9/yr. What is that worth in trade?

I appreciate your input.

I'm not sure how trading eichel at the tdl this year affects the prorated 3 million retained?

We would be paying a good portion of the 10 million this season, prior to the deadline.

Sabres pay Basically 7 of the 10 million for this season
Then hes owed 3 million, 30% of which we could retain?

So another team could get eichel for the playoff run for 2.1 million
7 million

If we retain 3 million or 30%

I think uncle Terry really wants him on the team too. That's been the rumor going back to his draft year. Pegula wants him on the team ASAP

If it makes the whole mceichel tank look better?

That's gotta be an all time management blunder if we get a ror return.

They need to get someone big ( a 1c) to satisfy their dignity.

This is the second local draft analyst put out prospect rankings that doesn’t even have Levi in the top 10 (not on top 20 here) and both have him behind Portillo and UPL.

I would also be very disappointed if UPL is on this team. That boy needs Roch time in a big way

Yeah I'm even cool with him being a top 5 corner since there is a lot of talent at the position. Just seemed wild to me that he was so low!

So stay in Roch = develop into a hunk? I can get on board with this...
