Is there any possibility that 1) we could keep Eichel on LTIR and say go ahead with your surgery and then 2) send him to olympics to show his stuff for a TDL deal? Or a move just before NMC kicks in?

Or is this prevented by some rule I’m too ignorant to know about?

All of this assuming a deal can’t get done before the season obviously

Well depending how long this takes, he will be on injured reserve until he can pass a physical, so yeah I would say that's possible.
