You the other day on the Reinhart deal - “ you can’t judge a trade right away”
You today - “we can judge a trade right away because this guy only had two goals”
Got it |

Or are you saying that Hall was just as good as ROR post-trade?
ROR won the triple crown. Hall didn't win anything |

one guy had 23pts in 26games and won the cup.... the other scores 3 goals in 11 games...
Seems pretty similar to me

What I’m saying is Hall having two goals is just as irrelevant as him having 8 in the 16 games after.
He’s been a great player most of his career and 33 games doesn’t change it
It was a terrible trade then, and terrible now.
Same with ROR. His trophies are meaningless in terms of the trade. The trade sucked then and sucks now regardless of what has happened since |

If:
1.) ROR was a rental
2.) The Sabres acquired ROR for free
2b.) Hall won the Selke, Conn Smythe and Cup
3.) The Sabres took Sobotka and Berglund back for Hall
Then I would agree the situations are similar |

So Hall being a PPG player doesn’t matter because his team didn’t make the cup finals?
You realize how flawed that is right?
The dude literally won an MVP a few years before we got him. |

I hope the kid works out, but there are only 30 or so “starting goalies” in the NHL.
It’s not like a top 6 prospect where there’s 100-120 of them
The odds Levi ends up a good starting goalie are about 1/100.
It’s a big reason why the deal is so damn terrible - sbroads24

I just can't get worked up over trading a free asset for a 2nd and a roster player. Especially with the season Hall had. |

wasn't hall's lone destination, via his ntc, Boston?...and doesn't that put the sabres in a bind?...especially when it was said that they had a supposedly better deal in place with vgk, but hall nixed it |

We traded a roster player too. One that’s about as good or even better than Bjork.
They traded a first line player for a pick in the 50’s.
You don’t have to get worked up. But it’s ok to acknowledge how bad it is.
Like the woke kids say, keep that same energy when the 2 goal captain is traded for peanuts (he also has won absolutely nothing) |

You're right about me leaving out Lazar.
I wish we had him now so that Eakin was 100% in the pressbox. Lazar's a firecracker. |

He said himself that was false.
You are more than welcome to find the quote since this has been brought up numerous times and it also doesn’t change that the trade sucked. Oh well |

I don't think he really said that. Without finding the quote, I believe it came down to a couple of choices and he "really wanted to go to Boston".
Think that's all you really need to know.

He'll say whatever he needs to tomake himself look better. And he didn't say "I would have gone somewhere else" L8
It was reported multiple times the Sabres had a better deal. |

I’m not going over this entire thing again.
He would’ve chose to go somewhere else instead of not being traded. That’s basically what he said. He said it wasn’t Boston or nothing.
And again, it changes nothing to the overall point of them getting a collective return of Richard for top line players

Lazar is a top line player?
I know your not talking about Reinhart cause we got a first and a top goalie prospect. For a guy who could've went to Arb took a 1 year 7 million deal and facked off after the year was over. |

After he was dealt at the deadline, Hall admitted he used the no-movement clause in his one-year contract to influence the process that led to Buffalo sending him and Curtis Lazar to Boston for Anders Bjork and a second-round pick. The Sabres retained half of Hall’s salary to make the cap numbers work.
“The no-movement clause really helped me become a Bruin,” Hall said in a media teleconference the next day. “Since I knew I would be traded for the last few weeks, it was a team I really wanted to join and I wanted to be a part of.”

And the trade matched a player with past accomplishments, not present ones. Along with a pending UFA and NMC contract.
Sure would have liked Studnicka and a 1st. Oh well.
I mean, it was either
A) Bjork and Kisakov
B) A handful of poop covered baby wipes |
