I know this seems like high expectations, but Hayes needs and I mean NEEDS a 20+ goal 65+ season with good consistent play. His contract is just way too damn big for him to float through the season on merit. - Glak18
A season like 2019-20 from him would be fine. |

What if... Listening to Fletch on Steph's podcast, it seems that they are truly believing last season was an "one-off" and we should bounce back to 19-20 level. With the additions he made and the returning players bouncing back, I think we should fight for a top 2 spot in Metro.
Now, that is a big what if. But, as always, I'm a believer.
In regards to the prospect camp, if a few of them don't show up and separate themselves physically as well as on the ice, it is a waste. Frost and Allison should be much more physically mature than most of these kids. They should dominate. There are others that should stand out too.
Let's go boys! |

After such a disappointing season some forget how good they were two season’s ago. At one point (right before the pause) they topped the power rankings and were considered one of the favorites to push for a cup. They have enough talent if the mix works out.
As far as Frost and Allison. The Flyers always have a couple high end talents at this camp. At least in the last 5 or 6 years. It’s nice with that pipeline. Guys like York and Zamula will be strong also. I always hated missing the college talent though. |

20 goals and 50-55 points is more realistic.

Actually, I think Bronwell is one good hire from Minny. Fletcher knows him well. It’s a promotion from assistant to head equipment manager. The Wild were sad to see him go. Bronwell is really good at his job. Players, coaches and media all like him. A really funny guy who should be a good fit.

It's the stupid NCAA rules that prevent it. |

Why would they want their guys going to a dev camp right before the season. It’s the same week as those guys going back to school and skating / working out with their team. |

I actually think they (college guys) can go to development camp but they have to pay their way. Correct me if I’m wrong Bill.
Wonder how much it cost. I’m sure not many college boys can swing the cost. |

What is so risky about Coots? - ClaudeFather
Most likely a 7-8 year term...ends when he is 36-37 years old. Yeah yeah I know, but Bergeron is 36. Well facts are facts and Bergeron is an exception, which means it happens very rarely for a player to be that age AND be a productive player. Another thing that is even more rare, a team having a player that has a cap hit of 8-9m playing limited minutes and win. |

I don't expect him to be a 65+ point producer for the rest of the contract, but for 49 million at least he could do is have a reasonable career best.
Update: I just realized that if Hayes has a career high than that most likely means something major happened and he has to slot in with more minutes. Not sure I would like that. |

NCAA rules allow for players to attend one camp (at their own expense) and one camp only during their collegiate career. Additionally, the camp may not overlap with a scholastic semester. This includes summer session classes if the player is enrolled over the summer. |

Two season’s ago Hayes had a very effective season. I was very happy with him. He was okay hurt. We know that so I’m hopeful that he will improve his play from last year.

By rule, there are things that teams can cover or assist with for up to 48 hours at camp, including travel. However, if attending for longer than 48 hours, all expenses fall on the player including food and lodging. That said, there are de minimus things the NCAA isn't likely to get too bent out of shape about. For example, if the NHL team brings in food for all camp attendees, the NCAA isn't likely to insist that a player turn down the catered meal and pay for his own food when he's on-site all day.

Very interesting. I remember a couple guys doing this a few years ago. Now I can’t remember who it was. I bet Bill has a run done as always. A wealth of Flyers’ knowledge. No wonder they selected to help with the Hall of Fame selections. Your impressive Bill. |

Players can now have a sponsor (alum or donor) pay for their expenses. I assume that rule will be changed based on this new ruling. |
