If Greene is a top 4 then we're in trouble. |

I don't see this article being a reality. zero shot Leddy leaving means Green moves to top 4 IMO. I think you might see Dobson move up and one of the 3 righties playing on the left side way before that happens. |

Zero shot - niteislander
I agree. If Leddy is not replaced, I can't see this team getting too deep into the playoffs. Personally, I think it would be a wasted season if Leddy is not replaced and Greene was tapped to log more minutes. He looked pretty damn tired when the playoffs started. Now he's a year older and looking to tack more minutes onto him? Not good. Let's hope Lou has something up his sleeve. |

I believe the Isles have to be at or under the cap when the season starts, and then Boychuk's LTIR can be added.
If so, maybe Lou is waiting until then to trade for a defenseman. In the meantime they will be able to see how close either Bolduc or Salo is to being an NHL player. |

They can be 10% over the cap up until day 1 of the season which is ~ $8 million and Boychuck's LTIR is 6 so Lou can sign at this point up to 6 million above the cap with no Cap compliance issues on day 1 of the season or now.. |

Hopefully Lou can use teams in cap hell to leverage a solid D-man as well.
It would just be nice for him to offer up a signing or 2 (if there is 1 or 2 in place) to give us something to discuss. |

Yup just like They couldn't make a deep run with Leo on the first line. Lets let the season start and see what Lou and Barry have in store before we bring back the doom and gloom we see on here every off season since Lou has taken over Let me add with no reason after seeing the results in the past few seasons.
There's time to make moves and they don't have to necessarily be done before the season starts. Lou has time and we know he likes to use it. Doby is going to get a chance to take the next step this year and if he can then you are looking for a bottom pair D man. Big difference in what you have to trade to get a top 4 or bottom pairing D man. There's time so no reason to panic and make desperate moves. I think we at this point should have faith in Lou and co. to put a competitive team on the ice with one goal in mind. |

I'm pretty sure you weren't referring to me regarding Leo on the first line since I never said anything about that.
My whole premise was based on IF Greene was to play the entire season with additional minutes added to him. I also stated that let's see what Lou has up his sleeve. Of course there is still time. And yes, he can also make a move during the season. |

Seeing some speculation (unfounded, of course) that Chara could be a possibility. I’m not wild about it, but I’m also not upset about it. |

Frank Seravalli mentioned something on his podcast on Monday about Chara potentially heading to FLA.
It'd have to have been either him or Greene....relying on one of them to handle top-4 minutes probably wouldn't work out well |

My question is where are we putting Lee now that we made it further this past playoffs with Leo on the first line? In fact I think the next Ben Shelly poll should be which line Lee should be on after the obvious success we had due to Leo being on the first line. |

No I’m referring to others that stated that.
You weren’t even posting then so sorry if you thought that was aimed at you my apologies.
I don’t think Barry’s going into the season with Greene penciled in as #4. As I said I’m thinking they will give Doby a look at #4. Of course just my opinion. |

I mean we made it further then we did the year before with Lee there. That’s the angle here no? Let’s get rid of Lee, get some cap space, and get a defenseman. Thankfully we have Komarov for another year. Easy peasy. |
