Eakin had shooting heater in his 22 goal season, but was still bad defensively.

Since the shooting dried up, he's been bad all around, even on quality Vegas teams.

He probably does but he is maybe the 4th line center on a tanking team and there was not a huge loss in losing Larsson too was my belief who he pretty much replaced and Larsson had 14 pts in more games last year but has half the pts in his career.

I can see why they may have wanted to shuffle the deck of players because the deck they had sucked they are shuffling even more now and many of you don't have a problem with the hand that they have and has come up short. You still want to hold even though the hand of players has come up short FOR YEARS. What ever floates your boats. As long as they got rid of Risto you were AOK who got a 13th overall, and a 2nd, and a player who will make the team this year.

That first line is what I thought. Eakin is just bad, if Hayden can play a decent defensive game, he's an improvement. I hope FOs aren't a deciding factor either, good point.

They were better off making definitive decisions last offseason, and likely shuffling the deck for real (who cares about changing 4th line Centers), but instead they took a half hearted approach, and the results were commensurate with their approach.

Cody Eakin was ECHL quality last year. What do career stats have to do with anything ?

Johan Larsson has been one of the better defensive forwards in the NHL since he has come into the league.

Are both replaceable ? Yes absolutely.

Larsson is a much better player at this point in his career then Eakin is and it’s not even close
