I see it's another day of Eakin buzz
just let that asteroid take out this miserable planet

Eakin was an exceptionally bad player with and without Ralph. Larsson brought his usefulness in preventing goals. Eakin did nothing for twice the salary. Kind of a boring topic to continue, but Larsson is unequivocally a better career player. - TheSabresTaco
really?...something, something, fancy stats?

Are we just going to ignore the assists ?
Do you really think Eichel was going to keep up his terrible shooting % all season as well ? - Pegullaville
If his rib and whatever else was actually hurt I don't think he would of been shooting the puck well. His shot was really off at the start of the year from it usually was.
I wonder what really happened at the start of the year for him to be hurt and still be playing only to get hurt more and more.
Did he want time off and they said play? Did the team not want him to play and he wanted to?
WHo let him on the ice with some broke ribs? |

and what does that say about him that he was not only able to hang with those two, but produce as well? - Michael Pachla
Are you implying Cody Eakin is a top-6 center?
The stats suggest that Pacioretty and Tuch dragged him along for the ride. His performance since basically cements that idea |

cody eakin, five double-digit scoring seasons: 22, 19, 16, 16, 11
johan larsson one doble-digit scoring season: 10 - Michael Pachla
Maybe things like this is why they wanted to shuffle the deck last year and sign Eakin he is/was reportedly more aggressive too. So, yeah I said Cody.Eakin. last summer.

What does the past have to do with Eakin’s career as a Buffalo Sabre ?
I mean Skinner was one of the leagues best goal scorers and he is surely living up to that $72M we gave him right ?
Cheecho scored 50 and was out of the league a few years later.
Eakin has several years of double digit goals yet his team was vastly outplayed when he was on the ice his entire career and he was on the ice for more goals and shot attempts against then he was on for.
The LOG line was one of the best lines in hockey for 2 years running but because our top 6 couldn’t score and our goalies couldn’t stop beachballs that all falls on our depth Centreman ?
Vegas, Dallas, and Winnipeg had successful seasons despite Cody Eakin dragging down their performance. |

Very possible. Power and Portillo are roomies though so I have a little bit of hope.
- Win championship
- Play 5 games for the Sabres
- Play in Calder Cup playoffs
- Full time starter in Roch next year
The Sabres organization needs this guy - Hank Balling
Portillo maybe the next Millerish goalie for the Sabres,

Expecting him to go on a shooting heater playing with 3rd or 4th line talent was a recipe for disaster when his only other talent was faceoffs, especially considering he was never playing on the top 2 lines. |

Yeah but the analytics said Eakin was the worst forward in the league prior to the signing and yet that continued to be the case when he wore the Sabres sweater.
Pach hates analytics and innovation. If it were up to him we’d still be riding horses and doing away with automobiles. |

I'm confused. Eakin wasn't terrible last season? - kingcong39
that wasn't the point...the point was that career stats don't matter...and i quote:

Eakin was bad the season before the Sabres signed him.
He was subpar defensively the year he scored 22 goals.
He went on a shooting bender while having quality linemates carry his ass. |

skinner scored a career high 40 goals in the blue and gold...he also had three seasons of 20 or more goals and three seasons of 30 or more

Zack KAssian, first line winger or no?

Not allowing goals or chances, are just as important as scoring goals and chances for.
They were impactful as a line by flipping the ice. Did they score a lot of goals ? No. However they didn’t give up anything either.
Do you expect the Bills defence to score every time they are on the field ? Is getting 3 and outs frowned upon ?
The Log Line was a high end defensive matchup line against other teams top lines. |

Right and his contract today is the worst in the league.
We are paying him for present and future performance not what he did in the past |
