I didn’t expect morikawa to do so bad. But I look forward to seeing how finau falls apart and doesn’t win this weekend - IndianaSabresFan

Sometimes you hit a HR and the wife agrees to Who Framed Roger Rabbit for movie night! Probably been 20 years since I've watched this. |

I'd say that's closer to fouling out to the 3rd baseman. Seeing that movie once is more than enough. |

Your math has 55 points in 49 games rated the same as 84 points in 68 games? - kingcong39 Wow. 1.12 compared to 1.23. Such a crazy difference. As I have said many times, I hope I am wrong, but the Cozens hype is unreal.

I mean, I don’t think the dude is a top line center, but how could you not be optimistic that he’s a possibly good top 6 center is beyond me.
He showed multiple flashes, and the raw talent is there.

Datsyuk was/is the most well-rounded hockey player quite possibly of all-time. - Jet Jaguar BD
Not even true for his own organization
Fedorov was so “well rounded” he even played as a defenseman when needed |

Easily Roger Zemeckis' best film. And, the greatest ensemble cast in any film ever.

Read that yesterday. One can tell we are in the late dog days of summer with an article like that, lol.
The general premise that in 2 years time the Sabres hope to be in position to round out their young and relatively cheap roster with a savvy trade or FA acquisition is on point though. Maybe even as soon as next offseason if:
a) Jack is traded for primarily futures and not too many/much/long term Cap dumps
b) Okposo is bought out leaving only Skinner's bad contract on the books. |

Not that he's going to make it to free agency, but the idea that signing Barkov to a UFA deal next offseason is a bad idea is silly. I'm not saying he'd have any interest in being in Buffalo, but he's a no brainer target for the Sabres. |

Sign him to a 4 year 60 million deal. He makes 20 million less then a 8 year 80 million but can cash in a long term deal again after 4 years. we can fit him in before new core needs big contracts. [/img] |

Between Alex the Great, Rsh and Hatboro_Swords, we have a hat-trick of serious losers on this blog.
Fitz and Beady have fallen waaaaay down the list. What happened to us?

If they offer him $12M or more per year with most of it paid as a salary bonus each season, I'd think it would be enticing to him. |

It is an interesting point to ponder in the wake of a Jack trade producing less than a reasonable return...i.e. reasonable meaning no prospect or draft pick returned that could produce a 1C within the next say 2 years... 3 at the outside.
Barring that, then bringing the full force and weight of the Sabres Cap flexibility and Pegula's wealth into play in targeting a very good player would seem to be required.
Now if the finish 32nd this season and guarantee themselves of a top 3 pick in that draft would likely yield a 1C prospect.
Li,e this offseason has been, next offseason will be equally interesting. |

What's the max contract value?...15% of the then current Cap ceiling I think.
If so, that would be ~$12m per. |
