How many times does this franchise need to fail in Arizona before the NHL realizes that it’s just a bad fit? - BiggE
If only there was an 18,000 capacity arena in a hockey crazed province in Canada ready for the 2022-2023 season???
My guess is this is a last ditch effort for the city to collect the $1M plus the Coyotes owe them. I'm sure the league steps in and finds a temporary solution to keep them there until a new arena is ready in AZ or elsewhere.
BUT- I agree that it is time for Bettman to cut the cord and just get out of AZ. A team would have to switch to the Western Conference if Quebec City is selected. As I sarcastically mentioned, they have an 18,000 seat arena that, I think, the Ramparts use. |

With guys like Matthews coming from the AZ area you think the sport would grow a little. Isn't Coots from AZ? - Pelle31Forever

The key word here is "franchise". In the time I've lived here, the # of rinks has doubled with a new one in Mesa opening recently. The year they went to the CF the area actually cared. The sport doesn't fail here, it's the franchise. They were crap in QC and they're crap here. I have/had high hopes with (another) new owner and the moves GMBA was making, but it looks like they're finally moving. |

Agreed! Gratton was overkill and never was a fit in Philly. Would like to see the Coyotes move to Quebec City, but Bettman wants them to stay in Arizona for some odd reason. Went to a couple Flyers games in Quebec City in the early 1990's and it was a great atmosphere and the building was full. They would support a team much better than the Zona folks do, but Bettman wants to keep those sunbelt teams for some reason.

It does appear to me that Arizona and Columbus will never be anything more than AHL teams or just plain dumping groups for overpriced discarded players. Its great for big market teams like the Flyers in that, hey, if you need to off load salary just send players to Arizona. But if that is all it is, how can anyone expect their respective fan bases to be truly excited about their teams. I feel bad for Columbus, because those fans seem to actually care and thus they deserve better. |

The business fit is fine. The NHL sponsors require access to that particular market. It’s all about the advertising and reaching an audience, no matter how small, in that location.

Once Jersey have the ads will the jerseys sold at arenas to fans also have those ads? That would be awesome |

Most universities have contracts with Pepsi. They get more contracts due to what they provide and the cost. Coke has some of the largest contracts though and is bigger overseas. |

Athletic just did a redraft of the 2018 draft, farabee at #4. Good pick ronnie, O'Brien not in the 1st round.....bad pick ronnie lol. Scott Wheeler had him ranked #69 and flyers took him 19. Still time to turn that around. But having zero production from a 1st round pick after 4 years has to sting a bit.
