I really don't see that many younger people drinking soda at all these days. Unless they're hiding it in those metal flasks they carry around.
Soda's really one of the more awful things you can put in your body. - Tomahawk
I will agree on the soda thing. If I had to drink any soda it would be ginger ale. I used to drink coke of at all but since they went insane woke I avoid all their products.
I’ll stick with water with lemon or natural brewed iced tea.
Better yet a cold beer but can’t do that while driving around during work. |

Could be wrong but don’t they have to at least offer more than his last deal as a rfa? - Peter Richards
10% I believe. But yeah philly probably offering the bare minimum. |

Hamilton is not big, but southern Ontario is close to 8 million ….that’s all within an hours to 1.5 hours drive of Hamilton. It’s a hockey hot bed obviously. - landros 2
Yeah I get that. Buffalo 70 miles away. A lot of Buffalo season tickets are Hamilton southern Ontario. I think like 20%. Add that with taking away from Toronto market. I don’t see another Toronto area team. Obviously they could easily support one but would take away from top $ team and put stress on smallest market team. Double whammy. I think Houston area is a no brainer. |

The gap between Pionk and Travis is probably negligible. Put Travis in Winnipeg w/ all that PP time and he's probably equaling Pionk's output. They're both pretty good at ES. Pionk doesn't kill penalties.
Zadarov is actually dominant defensively but he's not very well rounded. - Tomahawk
I don't believe that it's automatic that you just give a player PP time and he he produces. Labeling Zadorov dominant defensively is a stretch. In zone defensive defenseman normally aren't the kind of players that get paid.

Agreed. Maybe with pizza or hot dogs occasionally. Maybe people finally wising up. |

There is no “either or provision” Arbitration awards can and almost always do fall between the two offers. Bertuzzi last year got 3.5M falling between the 4.25 and 3.15 offers. Odds are still very much against Sanheim going to arbitration. - Djapana
I no think it was changed with latest cba |

He said 4.5 for Travis. Imo that would be for a two year deal. I like zadorov s game. Before Risto and hindsight. Wish we could’ve grabbed him for the price Calgary paid. Not sure I agree about the pp time. Why wasn’t he used more here I guess would be my question. - Peter Richards
Hands down I'd take Zadorov at that price over Ristolainen. The only issue may be that he is a LH shot although he is listed as being able to play both sides.

Waaaay back when zadorov is who I would've drafted, I had wild dreams of him turning out chara-esque. |

The Flyers are a brand. While Zadorov might be the best bang for your buck, Ristolainen is the sexier name. The Flyers have always played the game of selling tickets and winning. The Hextall way was the only time the Flyers struck me as dull in my history of being a fan. |

Curious… how old are you? We’re you around for the cup wins? Because I’d rather be boring here and there if it help win a cup. I’m 46. Flyers won 2nd cup a few months after my birth. |

What does my age have to do with anything? What happened in the 70’s has nothing to do with right now. |

This had nothing to do with tickets IMO, Fletcher has been wanting Risto for over 3 years so when he became available he jumped at the chance. Risto IMO is better than Zadorov in every aspect, and I'm looking forward to watching Risto play with something to prove in a contract year for the Flyers. |

Athletic just did a redraft of the 2018 draft, farabee at #4. Good pick ronnie, O'Brien not in the 1st round.....bad pick ronnie lol. Scott Wheeler had him ranked #69 and flyers took him 19. Still time to turn that around. But having zero production from a 1st round pick after 4 years has to sting a bit. - bradster
O'Brien was ranked much higher by both McKenzie and Button, and those are the two rankings I care about, because they have proven time and time again to be the most accurate. Also, I know for a fact that if the Flyers did not draft O'Brien at 19, the Rangers were going to take him, and the Bruins were also looking to trade up into the 1st to take him also. It was projected that O'Brien was a project and would need 4 years of development before he was playing for the Flyers. He is now coming into his 4th year, and playing his 2nd season at BU (a top college hockey program) after leading the team in scoring last season. He had a bump in the road at Providence due to injuries, but if he has another good year at BU, he will be playing next year and you will be very happy in what you see. |

It has to do with that Risto is a far superior all around d man then Zadorov…they are different animals. Zadorov would be awesome to get but he’s more of a stay at home bruising d man…..Risto is not as solid in his own end but is light years ahead in his offensive skills. |

As well one guy needed a 3rd round pick to acquire ….one guy was commanding a 1rst. Round +….Zadorov is a more polished Sam Morin type… |

I don’t hear a lot of positives coming out today about JOB. Except from you…
Obviously you don’t go in the first round if your not super talented. I think the draft list should always be taken with a grain of salt…. All those guys have as many misses as hits…for the most part they don’t see them play, they form a consensus of the scouts they know and trust. |

I did say with a bit of polish….Morin was drafted a few picks ahead of Zadorov, who unlike Sam has been able to stay healthy…when I watch Zadorov play that’s who he reminds me of.

Absolutely Ristolainen is better overall but he's not better defensively. Ristolainen is weak defensively to this point in his career. The real issue is Ristolainen that much better to give up a 1st, 2nd and Haag on top and having to renegotiate a new contract in which he has UFA leverage and is likely to be in the 7M range. Certainly not in my opinion. Again, with the caveat that in a hypothetical signing, I don't know that Zadorov would be the right fit as a LH shot.
