Thanks to you, I have some cursory knowledge of these kids. (and a few here with their finger on the pulse.....of things....)

First time in years I didn't really know anything about the 1st overall.

Probably written by some basement dwelling twinkie but a reasonably fair assessment nonetheless.

Saw a guy with a Flames mask on today. I really wanted to ask him if it made it hard to breathe or if it made him choke?🤔

Pretty poor journalism Marwood. Canucks have $10MM in cap space and need to make further moves to be able to resign Elias and Hughes. Just lazy

Eh, I think the conclusion is fair, Vegas wins the division easily being as they are DETERMINED to win the Cup this year or bust. Edmonton probably takes a step back but still manages to hold on for the #2 spot. Calgary and Vancouver fight over the #3 spot with whoever doesn't get it probably misses the WC because the Central Division is loaded with playoff potential teams and likely get the two WC spots.

I think when all is said and done, we miss by 2-3 points, Green gets fired 2/3rds into the season when we hit a big skid and drop out of the top 3 spots and Benning goes as soon as we're mathmatically eliminated from contention. Then the off-season comes, we get whatever castoff we can get from a former SC winning team's management group or some other star GM and because FA is an idiot, brings in Babcock as HC

Did you not read my trigger warning?

The forward group should be better.
The goaltending isn't a worry.
The defense is a question mark.
The team is a bubble team at best. If they were in a stronger division they wouldn't have a hope in hell of making the playoffs.

Time to enjoy some Rum Punch in the garden.

In reality, the canucks have more like 16 mil in cap space and will be able to sign both without further moves.

Ferland moving to LTIR saves 3.5, while adjusting the roster from 26 down to 23 will save another 2-2.5 ish

All fair, I’m slightly more optimistic. I think they make it but too many variables to have much confidence. No idea how the D will perform

Why is Vegas assumed to win ? They haven't upgraded at all , in fact they still need to get rid of at least one more piece .

?

Based on the first page of Capfriendly they have a PROJECTED CAP SPACE of $10,664,341.

https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks

Ferland has not been placed on LTIR yet so to assume so would be poor journalism, would it not?

The article seems rather vanilla and does not state anything radical or dishonest. IMO his opinion is probably a safe bet.

I think their regular season record over the last few years suggests they will continue to do well. Let’s be honest, not a lot of competition in that division and I don’t think you’d be surprised if they did win.

They lost MAF and Reaves . They only have 20 players signed and are over the cap which means they still have to dump. They have problems at center and no wiggle room at all.

We have around 16m cap space. Once ep and qh get contracts we gain over 1.5m space from 2 guys being sent down, we will also ltir Ferland during the off season for extra cap. We have enough for both players to sign. EP long term and QH bridge.

It also doesn't take into account the 14 forwards and 8 d not inc EP. Which means 2 contracts need to be sent to AHL after they sign. That is extra cap space from what we see now.
