?

Based on the first page of Capfriendly they have a PROJECTED CAP SPACE of $10,664,341.

https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks

Ferland has not been placed on LTIR yet so to assume so would be poor journalism, would it not?

The article seems rather vanilla and does not state anything radical or dishonest. IMO his opinion is probably a safe bet.

Why wouldn’t the author mention that the canucks will have roughly $16MM in cap space once players are assigned to Abby and Ferland is on LTIR? It’s just lazy. A quick google search would have cleared up their confusion.

They lost MAF and Reaves . They only have 20 players signed and are over the cap which means they still have to dump. They have problems at center and no wiggle room at all.

I think our top 9 is top 10 in the league right now. Our defense is better than last year, but how much better will be determined by OEL and if he returns to form. I also think Demko is rounding out to be an above average starter and we upgraded his backup.

It is just click bait . I didn't open the link .

Who seriously needs to read an article to know where the Canucks are cap wise?

I like how it looks on paper but need to play it out. So much going on with all the changes so we need to see how they play out but at least the team realized they needed change.

Pretty poor journalism Marwood. Canucks have $10MM in cap space and need to make further moves to be able to resign Elias and Hughes. Just lazy

Why is Vegas assumed to win ? They haven't upgraded at all , in fact they still need to get rid of at least one more piece .

It's our depth players that need to take a decent step. Not sure about top 10 for our top9 forwards, maybe middle of the pack.

Goaltending is fine. Top 10 for sure.

I think so . Players getting older and slower. They lost some toughness and goalie skills.

They are falling back a bit and other teams gaining a bit will definitely close the gap. I would not be surprised to see Oilers at the top.

I thought he did when he said “Canucks will need to make some additional moves” to clear cap space. I think sending players to AHL and placing players on LTIR are considered “moves”.

Again, just another meh article about the Canucks that doesn’t tell us anything new. We all know the issues and what needs to be done to resolve. Nothing to see here.

Oilers will only be good if McDavid and Drai can win a lot of games for them. Their depth is terrible and goaltending is bottom 5 in the league or worse. I could see them missing the playoffs this year if they don't get lucky in a lot of games.

After McDavid and Drai, the next 5 best forwards between the two teams belong to Van. RNH, then things start to go in our favor again. I disagree they have 8 good forwards. They have 2 of the best in the world, and then it drops off a cliff. Hyman can produce like a good 2nd liner if he plays with the best in the world. RNH is a solid 2nd liner, then they have nothing after that.

Saw something hilarious yesterday. There was a police chase through town. Cop ahead of me stops traffic and sets up his spike belt on the open lane. The car comes speeding along and sees it and just drive on the lawn around it. I mean, the cop set it beside a park with acres of open lawn.

All fair, I’m slightly more optimistic. I think they make it but too many variables to have much confidence. No idea how the D will perform
- CanuckDon

The D definitely needs a Viagra.
