Oilers have 8 good forwards we have 9 . Some of their forwards are a lot better than ours. - VANTEL
That's why I say Vegas #1 in the division by a mile, then Edmonton #2 a ways back and then Calgary and us fighting it out for #3-4. Since the Central is a lot stronger of a division than us with 6 teams that could realistically get into the playoffs as the two WCs. |

I agree with that save that Yamamoto is about equal with Hoglander and Turris is roughly equal to Richardinson |

I like our forwards but McD and Drai control the game any time they feel like it.
I think both the Oilers and Canucks made some big improvements this offseason |

I agree. This is the best forward group the team has had since 2012. It will score a lot of goals. Keeping them out of their own net is going to be the big wild card I think. |

Yeah D is the big mystery. Another year of decisions . It will be a year of seeing who stays and who goes on the back end.

Yamamoto is not as good defensively and was out produced by Hoglander last year. Turris sucks and is quite inferior to Richardinson. |

McDavid and Drai > Canucks top two lines. - VANTEL
I'll wager that Vancouver top 2 lines combine for more goals and points than just McDavid and Drai combined. McDavid is the best regular season player in hockey, and Drai is top 5. |

That would be a pretty dumb bet for me to make . 6 v 2 , seeing a lot of extra secondary assists get awarded to players who had very little to do with the goal . You did prove my point that you would need 6 forwards to make it close against those two. |

In all likelihood, those two will combine for around 230 points (210-250).
Petey -75
Boeser - 60
Miller - 60
Horvat - 55
That’s 250 and would be “good” seasons by all. |

Can not attend a Canucks game in Vancouver or Abbottsford without proof of vax . Canucks officially confirm this. |

Yeah, Twitter (and FB I’m sure) is going crazy with the announcement today. It goes way beyond hockey - restaurants, movies, fitness classes, religious thingy’s etc. |

It wouldn't be close. Our 6 would blow them out of the water. McDavid and Drai probably combine for 200-250 pts. Our top 6 probably combines for 400+. Our top 6 and theirs probably combines for a fairly equal point production this year. The difference being that we have 6 players producing and they have 2 producing 60% of it. Sure RNH will be good for 60 and Hyman for 50, but I see us having 6 guys over 60 pts. |

I told my wife she needs to carry her proof from now on . She is forgetful so it could lead to problems.

It would take four players to match them point wise .

Oilers will only be good if McDavid and Drai can win a lot of games for them. Their depth is terrible and goaltending is bottom 5 in the league or worse. I could see them missing the playoffs this year if they don't get lucky in a lot of games. - Retinalz

I disagree a bit on this. The Oilers season will depending on Smith and Koskinen playing as well as they did last year. I don't see it happening. As good as McDavid and Drai are, they can't win 82 games by themselves, and the team has 4 good players and then a bunch of 3rd/4th liners. Their defense is not great, though I say that if Nurse plays like he did last year, he makes their D better than ours. But not by much. Our Goaltending will be better. I just don't think the Oilers are deep enough yet. |

I mean, I suppose it’s possible, but I highly doubt this will happen.
I don’t think any Canuck is flirting with 100 pts on the season, and I don’t think the 5th & 6th forward will both break 50 pts maybe they get five players past 50 pts. |

3. EP, Miller, Boeser will combine to have a similar point production. I see those 3 as 75+ each and McD and Drai combining to around 230. |
