It may have been Ralph, but it's quite easy to blame all the bad decisions on Ralph and absolve Adams of almost any involvement in said bad decisions because it makes it simpler to have hope going forward, and it makes the poop of last season easier to reconcile mentally.

This is the stuff I don't get. I think the position is they don't trust the government, but that's a straw man. When you don't take the Pfizer vaccine that has been offered by the VA you're not saying you don't trust the VA you're saying you don't trust the hundreds if not thousands of chemists and biologists employed by the Pfizer corporation. And, maybe that's because of the demonization of "big Pharma" over the last 25 years. I don't know what it is, but it's surely misplaced.

And, on top of it for veterans, every one of us has been jabbed with so many inoculations it's kind of laughable to get your back up now.

Like you said, it's easy to blame Ralph, but there's also a body of proof forming. Adams is not making the types of decisions Ralph did. And, poop, just look at the Taylor Hall signing. Reider and Eakin were brought in here because Ralph wanted help on the PK. Since Eakin can't do literally anything well except faceoffs, that too is a mystery.

Valid points. And you (general pop) have all the rest of your vaccines, not a peep, but all the sudden, the most devastating since polio and people don't want to be protected against it. It blows my mind. I'm 100% for freedom of choice. But god damn.

My wife admitted a family of 4 (2 adult kids) into the ICU last week. 2 of them are expected to die. No one is vaccinated. They all stated they made a horrible mistake.

I take adams at his word that it's a collaborative approach. Donnie has coached Hinostroza before so I would think he had some input on that decision.

I think Ralph was AGM and perhaps defacto GM, but the structure is totally different now with Karmanos here

I agree with that. Yes, they're digging up players with a familiarity to Donnie, as it's easy recruiting. At the very least, the signings they did make over vet minimum were intelligent and purposeful. There were no Eakins this year. No Sobotkas. No Ristolainens.

I don't bash Girgensons (he does fall often) like I do other guys because while he doesn't exactly score points, he does serve a positive purpose on the ice that I respect and actually helps his team, unlike others. He had a positive defensive impact with Ralph. He was *ok* with Phil. Results were mixed with Disco. (These are statistics based observations)

To summarize, even though he's maintained the same role since Ted left, his results have been varied per coach. As I'm of the optimistic type, I am hoping Donnie puts him in a position to succeed. But it definitely remains to be seen how effective he is on this version of the Sabres. He was good (at defense) in 19-20. But so was most of the roster, because of how Ralph ran the team.
