Just hope deadpoulet is still sleeping I guess? I had a person who was easily 40% body fat on the weekend tell me I shouldn't eat eggs as they'll make me fat. It was one of the few times in my life where I literally had no words to respond with

we laugh all the time because we hear the girl i call kirby (because she looks, and is built, exactly like kirby) giving the receptionist nutrition tips.

That's a brutal nickname...It's the hard part for people who try to get in shape and all that but are starting from a poopty point. They want to share what they're learning because they're excited and all that...but there's so much bad info out there that a lot of times they share incorrect stuff. If I had a buck for every time somebody told me fruit makes you fat I'd have enough to pay my produce budget the rest of my life.

When I first started to get in shape a friend of mine actually took me aside and essentially said...we're happy for you but shut the (frank) up. It was solid advice

the amount of "it's already proven that.." followed by complete bullpoop is astonishing. people are too emotional about their arguments to even be willing to use reason anymore. even if they know they're gonna get called out on it, they just say it anyway.

The Delta variant looks nasty, and the people who think they are immune because they "REFUSE TO LIVE IN FEAR" could be in for a surprise.

That's the problem with the society we live in. People treat minor inconveniences as persecution, and an attack to their freedom. We have no idea what persecution really is.

I know that between saying nothing and insulting a person to their core, saying nothing was the correct response

Does the vaccine really protect against this variant though or we'll need to get a booster shot every time a new variant comes out?

Just wondering if COVID will end up like the flu and vulnerable people will have to get vaccinated yearly depending on the strain that's the most dangerous at this time while others will learn to live with the risk...

she's a brutal person. she's awful.

she doesn't want to get in shape she wants to talk about getting in shape while she eats Arby's right in front of you.

although i do jokingly tell people "just cut carbs for 9 or 10 months!", even though i know what works for one person may not work for another.

Pfizer and Moderna drops from 91% to 66% against the Delta variant

Unfortunately the virus has spread too much around the world now, so it's here to stay. Let's just hope that research will find a long term solution against it.

Living in fear is also a huge problematic you can't overlook. I for one will not fear guide my life, saying that I'm double vaccinated because I chose to be part of the solution and not the problem, but I still strongly disagree with things like masks on elementary kids in class

Lots of people just don't know how to eat healthy...

Mother in law still thinks a glass of orange juice or chocolate milk every day is healthy. When she's trying to cook healthy, she just ends up steaming/boiling everything and removes all the taste from food...When your food doesn't taste good, of course you'll want to snack or have a desert afterwards because you're not satisfied.

Diet is a Greek term that means lifestyle. It's not about temporary changes, it's about longterm changes that you can live with and maintain. It's a marathon, not a sprint. I say that having lost a ton, yo-yo'd a bunch of it back, lost it, gained it and kept that cycle going a while before making lasting changes. But yeah...I grow tired quickly of the "I'm gonna do x" people who never do poop

Just wondering if they should invest more in treating the sick. A drug that could stop people with heavy symptoms from going to the hospital would be nice.

the truth is most likely in between, just like with everything else. people are on one side of the argument and that's that. there are people wearing masks to go their mailbox and there are people going anti-vax and trying to board a plane without a mask. but both of those extremes are being used by small minded people to argue that "your team" is wrong! look how they're acting!" we're all busy doing that rather than getting to work on figuring out what we can all do to get rid of it the best we can.

Of course.

I think without the Delta variant, kids would have started schools without masks.

It seems to affect kids a lot more than during the first wave. Pediatric hospitalizations are on the rise in the U.S.

Everything nowadays is political and too many people cling to the extremes when the answer is almost always in between.

I think we are past that point. People are divided but in the end we should just work towards the same goal. Make sure people stay healthy, that we prevent the pandemic from affecting our lives too much, prevent lock-downs.

Vaccine passport will be in effect here on September 1st. I'm worried for businesses who will have to enforce it, and will have to deal with poop for brains who are mad at the government but will take their rage out on employees who are just trying to do their job.

They are all good points, if you want to find 1 reason to live in fear you pretty much will always be able to find one. But one thing they never do is factor in if the negative effects are worst than the solution.

They've already made tremendous progress in treating COVID since last year.

I'm sure they'll eventually discover a way to prevent a treat it as effectively as possible.

It's already god damn amazing we have a vaccine that protects us and had it so quickly.
