How much cap space is left? - ziggy_skalica
Nothing official from CapFriendly yet, but according to their site...
Doesn't take into account Boychuk's $6M LTIR cushion. Getting tight for adding a d-man though. Buyout Komarov and send Johnston to the minors and that gets it up to -$1,395,855, before Boychuk's overage |

If they actually signed Parise.. then My guess is one or both of the Panik/Leo tandem is gone via trade or otherwise.
Lee/Barz/Palms
Beau/brock/baily
Parise/JGP/Wahlsrom
MM/Zeeker/Cal
(Zajak and Panik healthy scratch).. ??

Totally forgot about Zajac by this point. christ I hope he's not a regular because that means he'd likely be bumping Wahlstrom out of the everyday lineup.
Yeah I think some, or all, of Johnston/Komarov/Panik will be off the roster in one way or another. Johnston would save them a full $1M if they demoted him (and could call him up when they play the Caps/Rags/whoever they want a heavy for). Buying out Panik saves them all but a little over $200k of his cap hit. Buying out Komarov saves them about $1.33M of his $3M hit |

They could also just play Panik instead of Parise, as I doubt Parise could be had for less. |

I think Parise still has some gas left in the tank, I actually like him a lot for the 3LW spot. I'd hope he comes in under $1M though and doesn't have some attainable-bonus-laden contract that cuts money off the cap next year when he hits his bonus(es). Parise is only a season removed from being a .66ppg player (and .36gpg) and he'd be playing with Pageau and Wahlstrom/Zajac which would be a pretty solid line. |

As do I. But it is comforting to know that Panik is available should Parise ask for too much. |

Just seems that, this late in the game, if Parise didn't already have a deal in place that he'd have moved on and signed somewhere else or retired. Same with Zajac. |

I think that's a pretty good deal. He got less than a $500k raise
I didn't think Sorokin would get up to $4M, but I'm happy with that one too. All good news so far. - eichiefs9
Agreed. I like all of the deals so far. I assume we’ll find out who or whether Leddy is getting replaced from outside the organization considering he revealed these signings. Should find out soon… |

He will likely come back as 5C to fill for injuries. |

God I hope he retires…
And yeah, the fact that Parise hadn’t officially signed anywhere suggests that he’s signed with the Islanders.
Lou’s probably just keeping that bit quiet until he figures out the D situation. |

That’s Parise if he’s signed of course. |

Nice job on all these contracts. Sororkin got a little more then I expected but no complaints at all. Was kind of hoping for Chara as a 6/7 but oh well |

I have a feeling Sorokin is going to look underpaid by the end of next season. |

I think both have a deal in principle but Lou is holding on to that nugget while he works a trade for a D-man. Just a thought. |
