Given I've served various roles in middle level mgmt, these fascinate me. I was a Product Manager for a Telematics system for a forklift company and there is a "fake it till you make it" mentality to a degree. Not necessarily with safety, forklift OEM's are terrified of litigation and really watch their claims when it comes to that, but reporting, filtering options, data features, etc there is a mindset where you just say yes and figure it out later to a degree.

Was never comfortable doing that, wouldn't lie to customers. Which is why I was hired by one. Anyway, I read that book and it just solidified everything I observed and I did my best to reign sales and execs in to see the actual picture, rather than the one they wanted to see.
