Tarasenko pretty much told Armstrong he's open to moving to ANY team. The only reason a trade hasn't been made is teams are obviously concerned with his health and Army obviously is pretty confident he's healthy and isn't interested in selling low. At this point 99% he starts the year in St. Louis and scores a bunch of goals and the he makes up with the Blues or He is moved at that point. We'd love Tkachuk though |

Good deal for the Hurricanes, only 21, one of my favorite players.

Not sure I view him in the same light in terms of a consolation prize to Eichel.
Older, more broken down, didn't really produce much of anything last year and is a winger that we don't really need in our top 6 with Coleman here. If anything, acquiring him would just be a shake-up of parts and you'd likely have to send out a top 6 guy to fit him in the cap and roster makeup anyhow.

Another classic Sutter type to go with the rest of the group, huh? Gonna be fun watching this team pull itself apart this year. |

Tkachuk's going to cost more than Tarasenko.
Maybe Tarasenko, Kyrou, Neighbour and a 1st |

There is far too much back-door dealings and collusion in the NHL for Tarasenko to have that much value. Seattle was already trying to shop him before they passed on him at the draft, and if they had a chance of flipping him for a top prospect or a 1st, they would have scooped him up. No more than a 2nd rd pick will acquire Tarasenko. There is plenty of risk associated with him and his physical rehab, as well as his overly vocal disposition with ownership. |

I don't think you understood his proposal. Tarasenko has no value in that trade. He's just there to balance the money. A trade like that is the only way Tarasenko makes sense for the Flames. If they feel Tkachuk doesn't want to stick around and they get some decent young players and prospects and potentially a rejuvenated Tarasenko, that's a win. It's the only type of deal that makes sense for the Flames. |

Yeah definitely not 1 for 1, but part of the deal. Tkachuck will need a new deal after this year so you're not going to get that big of a haul for him. I know he will be a RFA, but he'll be due a decent raise. Plus he grew up in St. Louis and would likely come here for a discount when / if he does hit FA.
I'd say Tkachuck for Tarasenko, Neighbors and a 1st (or maybe Thomas and no pick)
And that would be after the season starts and Vladdy has 10 goals or so in 20 games. He won't be going anywhere until / unless that happens. |

Not that the value isn’t fair, but Tkachuk shouldn’t be available at all. He’s just so fun to watch play when he’s under a team’s skin. Shouldn’t be trading him at a low point in his value either. |

No Tarasenko deals to the Flames, thank-you.
Blow up the roster to get Eichel, if you have to, but not for Vlad. |

Really comes down to does he want to be in Calgary and the salary cap. I freaking hate the cap so many good players walk away from their teams because of it... |

Well, he didn't sign an extension yet. They have to be open to offers. They can't go with the 9 million qualifying offer he's going to force them into.

Well, yeah, but that's kind of the point to driving parity. You need a strong farm system and scouting to fill things out when your stars get to be expensive. |

So with about 3 mill in cap space, and now only needing to ink Mackey- are the flames done and ready to begin the season? Now that we have all the guys signed, will Tre make a last minute push for Eichel and make a BIG shakeup? Or is our roster set? What do yall think- or hope gets done before the start of the season |

Tre needs to make a trade to get Eichel, hell the last time the Flames had a legit #1 Centre was with Nieuwendyk.
