Lol. The big guys always take longer to develop. Yeah I would take a chance on him.
- Peter Richards

It's a smart move. Cut ties with a rubstov or somebody irrelevant and give that spot to the beast.
I can see him being a fan favorite after he cripples a few guys into the boards. We all love a bone crushing got as long as it's on the other team, right?! Lol

What's the rush? Don't they have plenty of time to decide to sign a draft pick to an ELC?

His sheer size alone would be an insurance policy for our young stars in the AHL.
No dirty hits on our guys or you get beaten by van de leest the beast

I really am hoping he gets a contract and I admittedly know little about him except that he is a massive, massive mofo

- Bob Habib

everything I have read says well he isn't good at hockey. He fights but apparently not very good at it.

Please provide the evidence of those stats that you claim. Buchnevich's complete stats including all of the underlying numbers have been provided to you from the last 3 years. You have provided nothing. I agree, why trade him. He had 48 points in 54 games last year but that doesn't fit your narrative so it's skewed. You claim it's an outlier which is an asinine point of view since he is a developing player.
- MJL

I explained already. Stats from nhl. Com. Game logs.

How is it not an outlier for his career?

So last year was normal? Seriously. It wasn’t my narrative. It just refuted yours.

Star level how many point will he have. More or less than 73? Then we will find out in a year.

Provide the stats. You made the claim. You haven't refuted anything. You're just posting nonsense. The fact that last year wasn't a normal year in hockey and he still produced at a very high level supports my premise and refutes yours. You offer nothing concrete because you can't.

Not arguing that. But neither was chara at 20. Agree with other poster. Easy to cut loose a contract that is going nowhere.

Doubt his shooting percentage will be over 16 percent again. He has twice in six https://www.nhl.com/playe.../pavel-buchnevich-8477402

And funny. I didn’t make the claim you did. But agree with your previous statement that stats don’t paint the whole picture. Same with analytics.

You called me clueless. You never made your point as to why or how.

Couturier is arguably our best player. Definitely our most important player. If Patrice Bergeron is the standard, Sean Couturier still needs that defining clutch moment. I’m not question his toughness or his ability to do his job but in terms of scoring a big goal or making a big play in a big moment, Bergeron is leaps and bounds ahead of Couturier. At some point we need to realize the most important season is the post season.

Now if this is a clueless statement that you can’t challenge, Maybe you shouldn’t say anything at all.

- SuperSchennBros

Evidence supporting him being clutch was provided by another poster. You disregarded any and all evidence simply because the team hasn't given him the opportunity to meet your definition of clutch (late postseason games).

Any player toting the hardware he has is clutch. No doubt about it.

I don’t know about anyone else but I cannot wait to get this season started and watch some hockey again and move on from all the offseason speculation. Regardless if you like all of the moves this off-season or not, I think it’s clear the players are aware they all need to step up in a big way from last season. If anything, I’m happy about the message Fletcher has sent regarding last season’s performance and hope we see major improvement all around.

His career shooting percentage is 13.7%. He has twice been over 16% in his 5 year career. So again, what we see here is not any facts offered by you but speculation on the future. You've ignored every fact given while offering none yourself. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when you offer an opinion that ignores the facts. Can't be take seriously.

This team could wind up anywhere from out of the playoffs, to on the bubble or to the top of the division. One thing is for sure though. After the disaster of last season. This team should be more entertaining and fun to watch. I think they'll be a good team and a playoff team but not quite god enough.

What did people say about Myers or zamula before they were offered a try out?
Let's hope he develops. He is big and a defenseman so it may be a slow development. I just hope if the talent is there that the flyers brass can recognize it and get him on board

Love the Bergy comparison as it’s completely stupid..

How many players have won 1 selke trophy? A lot is the answer…

How many have won 4? NOT MANY IS THE ANSWER

Coots is not elite defensively he’s very very good. Bergy is elite

Coots is NOT comparable to bergy

AGREED, i am excited, hopefully the culture issue is fixed with the new players and removing Jake. Most of the new players have had a letter on their jersey, cant hurt the leadership. Most of our leaders have been the quiet type, i am hopung Chuck nailed it this offseason. Just losing PAtricks ice time alone should help this team. And Ellis....yes, i am excited
