At the time, I believe some suspected Preds refused to trade for Vinny when we tried to get rid of him because of the offer sheet - arichardson22
All Poile had to do was OS Coots coming out of his ELC with an $6 dollar signing bonus.

On paper. Not in reality. You compare and say he’s ahead of pastrnak leon and such. Seriously you can’t be comparing him to them. Last year was different and you know it. Are you saying he’s one of the 15 top left wings in the game? If so no way. All players you said he was above are better players than him. Period.
What specific stats could you not find using the link?
Also there are 31 teams in the league last year. Now 32. - Peter Richards
All rhetoric, no content. Yes, he absolutely is in the top 15 of left wings in the game and all the information available supports that. You keep pushing that last year was different as if they didn't play hockey. Buchnevich scored at a higher rate at 5 on 5 than all of those players listed. That's a fact. There was no statement made by me that suggests that he is a better player than any of those players listed. |

Absolutely. It will be interesting to see what Patrick’s role on vegas is if any. But I like the moves. Something had to change. - Peter Richards
Speaking of...I do find it curious that Patrick hasn't signed a new contract yet.
I know the cliche reasons like there is no rush or the cap situation, but the fact is they traded for him and it should be an easy signing.
Personally I feel like Patrick or more likely the new agent is looking for a more secure payday, but there still has to be concerns over his health, performance and/or role on team.
It's sad, but I see this becoming one of those stories many years later on what ever happened to that Nolan Patrick kid and why didn't he work out.

Evidence supporting him being clutch was provided by another poster. You disregarded any and all evidence simply because the team hasn't given him the opportunity to meet your definition of clutch (late postseason games).
Any player toting the hardware he has is clutch. No doubt about it. - BenderRodriguez
A shootout game winning goal against the league’s worst team isn’t evident of being a clutch player. Nobody ever called Jussi Jokinen clutch, he was just really good in the shootout, which some are over the other. The shootout and 3v3 is a gimmick. It’s not apart of the big stage. It’s as simple as gonna on YouTube as tomahawk just pointed out. Look up Couturier’s game winners vs Bergeron. Bergeron has many and I mean many double overtime goals in the playoffs. Couturier I’m pretty sure doesn’t have any. 2 goals for 9 points in 15 games the last time we were in the playoffs isn’t terrible but it’s not numbers that say he’s ever carried us. |

I don't see how he has much leverage so I agree it should be an easy signing.

Bro, forget Bergeron for a sec.
What I took issue with was you saying you've never seen Coots do ANYTHING clutch before. Which was a hot hot hot take that deserved to be ridiculed.
And no matter how hard you try to move the goal posts, it just isn't true. |

To me the bottom line is production, and Buchnevich produced last year close to a point a game while playing top 6 minutes for the first time in his career. I think St. Louis got a steal here, I mean to get a top 6 winger for a nobody and a 2nd round pick?? |

Since Bergeron has been the number 1 center for the Bruins they have been to the cup finals twice in 10 seasons and lost both times, does this mean Bergeron is not clutch? Couturier is not only the defacto best player on the team, he is in the top 5 of two way centers in the league, in the same conversation as Barkov, Bergeron and Kopitar. Couts is a player you build a championship team around. |

Coots is the Flyers best player…I’m not sure he’s a franchise C, but he’s dam close. If your team wants to remain somewhat relevant the you sign your best players. I agree Coots is a clutch performer. Sometimes guys forget there’s two sides in hockey….offence and defence. While Coots may not always be clutch on offence he sure as hell is on defence. I agree he’s top 5 in the NHL as a two way forward…all day every day. |

So in Jesper K, if you are the Habs are you pissed at him? I get he had to sign 6.1 but the 20 bucs, Jesper signed a slap in the face, an obvious slap in the face Wow |

Jesper is looking out for Jesper. How could he not sign it? Montreal should be pissed at themselves. This is why offer sheets are a bad idea.

that is a given but he signed a sheet that had a deliberate $20.00 slap in the face, could he really not say, please keep that out of there or does he really want to be a Cane.
If you are the Habs you have to be disappointed in Jesper for that specifically but yes offer sheets are not good business it appears |

He has to sign the offer sheet as presented to him if he wants the contract. I think he wants the 6M payday.

I don't know, maybe. If it's me, I'm looking at the 6M and the 5M or so raise and thinking the gripe is between the two teams.

honest question, is he allowed to request to remove it?
I agree he had to sign, but his agent is there to advise and in the event Habs match, you would think the agent would advise against the 20 bucs

To your first question, I don't know. To the other comment, I would think that his agent had no reason to care about the signing bonus.
