If you play Kane down low, you are expecting him to win board battles/puck retrieval? - LAHawk
Kane can do that but I don't think you want him doing it anymore. |

Westhead:
3:30 timestamp: The two Blackhawks players who were allegedly sexually assaulted by Brad Aldrich were two different incidents. The other Blackhawks player who did not file a lawsuit against the team wants "nothing to do with this". He is upset this became public.
9:15 timestamp: Nick Boynton heard about these allegations from Jake Dowell, "another Black Ace". Boynton and Dowell spoke to the two accusing Blackhawks players who then approached skills coach Paul Vincent. Dowell's memory is "foggy".
So, Brad Aldrich’s John Doe 1 :
Jordan Henry, Colin Fraser, Ben Eager, or Jake Dowell?
Jordan Henry played one more season in Chicago and two games with the Ducks the next season.
Fraser was gone the next season but continued playing parts of five seasons and is still currently playing in Germany.
Eager was gone in the Atlanta Thrasher cap giveaway and played four more seasons.
Dowell played one more season withe the parent and club and was traded and just played a little of two more seasons with Dallas and Minnesota. Could Boynton gone public and included foggy to help keep him anonymous? - wiz1901
Tell me. What difference does it make who the victim(s) was/were besides morbid curiosity?

Clearing a puck on the forehand takes time to get set? Not sure I entirely understand that (talking about D playing what would be known as off-wing for a forward) ... it actually felt like the other way around, to be honest- moving the puck off the forehand was a lot easier than on the backhand, plus there'd be more control (stick curves on the backhand and all of that).
I mean, I do get the idea of LHD playing LD, and RHD playing RD - but that always seems more about gap control, and being able to use your stick and the boards at the same time. If you're reaching across your body, you don't do that as well (or as quickly).
If Hjarlmarsson would be more prone to turnovers playing on his off side - my guess would be because he'd have been playing far longer on LD as opposed to RHD .... granted the entire strongside, weakside thing is really all about shooting angles on the net - as opposed to anything else - and wingers end up getting away with it, mainly because that's about offense, and not defense. - SC116
Sorry for not clarifying in the blog but see tvetter's response. The perspective was from a player using a RH stick in the defensive zone. I can imagine if someone uses a LH stick, they could've read the blog from that perspective so it may have been confusing. |

You’re right! Wiz does a great job breaking down junior and draft prospects. He doesn’t need to lower himself into this poop. First he decided to wanted to get the scoop and be the first to tell everyone Toews had ALS, which made him look ridiculous and now he wants to get into this nonsense. I wish he’d stick to what he does best and what is of interest to this board and not try to be the National Enquirer. |

Good catch. I would have expected Reichel to sport Patrick Poulin’s #44 but he can’t (yet) with de Haan on the team. #27 is a good number to choose as an alternative. Reichel wore #73 with Germany. |

I notice the Tommy Hawk (“official mascot of the Chicago Blackhawks”) prominently displayed in the photo, and, more importantly, on the truck.
Is this Danny’s administration gradually moving away from the Indianhead and toward the bird as the logo? |

Yeah, I was expecting 73 or something thereabouts.
Unless the Hawks plan to keep Pirri who wears 73
I could see Mitchell switching to 15 now that Smith is gone.
Then Reichel switching to 44 once de Haan departs and Hagel switching to 22 once Carpenter moves on.
And speaking of Patrick Poulin, if the Hawks are out of the playoff hunt and get the green light from Fleury to trade him, then I would ship him to the Penguins for either a 1st rounder or Poulin's son Samuel (at least start with that asking price then negotiate from there). |

Perhaps. That is one way teams make incremental steps toward rebranding, i.e. small hints like that. It's a good way to test the market reaction while being non-commital. |

Tell me. What difference does it make who the victim(s) was/were besides morbid curiosity? - boilermaker100
None except morbid curiosity as one of the victims supposedly quit hockey and live was altered due to this.
The hockey part is as crucial to this story as the Theo Fleury/ Graham James was....today Theo's rants are as wild as Qanon's so these victims are damaged.
It is hockey organizations vacation time, and they are at almost a standstill with the NHL operations, and to me this topic is curious.
I am not casting stones at McDonough/Stan Bowman and the Wirtz organization.
In fact, I refuse to build up any anger in connection to this...it falls way short of the Jan.6th insurrection,as I morbidly as in "appealing to an abnormal and unhealthy interest in disturbing and unpleasant subjects" IS worthy of all our brain activity over one misguided sicko.
I am not morbidly wondering which alter boys from my Holy Innocents Parish were possibly victims, or wishing ill on the church in Rome for their actions.
I do think that part of what happens in the shock and awe that these revelations cause to the persons around but nor directly victim or the pursuer seem to have a whole lot more compassion for the institutions and the aggressive bad behaviored employees.
Besides the press backlash, the institutions/authority see and want tp pardon the wrong-doer from public.
This is a true story: A new math teacher was hired at the school I worked. On the surface he was you or me, but 30's.
Email was an allowed communication for students in need of homework, homework help...me, I just gave them my phone phone number and told them they needed to get their HW questions ready before they called b/c they were only getting 5 minutes (a lie;I would stay on as long as they needed for me to feel confidence.)
Well this in his thirties teacher had a foster kid in his class and there emails degenerated to personal questions dealing with sex (NO proportions, photos) ... the foster parent was monitoring the young girl's Emil and came to the principal with copies. This is from this teacher's conversation with me; The principal saw these emails and offered me a chance to resign, and be spared of a public condemnation and a chance to reform my actions as a adult teacher, or she could hand the entire matter to the Board of education, which in matters like this would place the teacher in an office at the BOARD, free from teaching, until the matter was resolved.
I know it is not the same.
It was akin to when as a 11 year old my friend and I took the matches from Little Mikey, 9, who was about to start papers on fire under porch steps. (We knew he had a liking to burning stuff.) We didn't go to the police, his parents, etc. b/c it didn't seem to be way to prevent recurrence.
The world is completely unjust for so many.
Not necessarily for me or you.
Fortunately my morbid delight on a hockey website raises such questions in the grand scheme of this reality, I better watch it. |

The real insurrection occurred on Nov 3, 2020. That is the day the government was taken over. Jan 6 was in inside job to confuse people like you Wiz. Why do you fall for that? |

I wonder if the “other” player felt that it was not that big of a deal at that time or since. Based on the little that has been reported, allegedly Aldrich did something disgusting and stupid, but did not touch them or force them to do anything. Maybe he threatened that he would do something to them if they said anything. But they told other players and management, and they caught poop from other players. So apparently they were not too afraid of repercussions from the coach or the team. It was two players in their early 20’s and one coach in his late 20’s in the room. Bad, definitely. Criminal, questionable. Management fired Aldrich after some short investigation. Maybe end of story in the “other” player’s mind. |

Hurricanes offer sheet Kotkaniemi to a one year contract worth $6.1M that he signed.
There’s apparently a $20 signing bonus which analysts say seems like trolling for the Aho offer sheet. Aho wears #20.
Canadiens get a 1st and 3rd if they don’t match.
They re-signed Poehling to a cheap 2-year deal earlier today. |

I m surprise teams like Detroit or Ottawa for example haven't put offer sheets out for petterson hughs from Vancouver KK from Montreal. Most of the time i know the offer sheet gets matched it will be interesting to see what happens. So here is a fun discussion topic where does strome dehann subban go to and what is the return if they are traded? Does Matthew tkachuk get traded? Or what other surprising names could be traded before training camp in season or at the tdl?
